Default Hitting Vtec leaking OIL???

I have a 98 GSR with 102k miles and every time I hit VTEC it smells like oil I notice that oil is leaking right around there and its not alot but It settles where the head meets the block rite by cyclinder number 4. Does my vtec solenoid need a new gasket or could it be the headgasket? Its acumulating on the block now behind the exhaust manifold from all the build up of the oil leaking down. Oh and my friend was fallowing me one day and said Im getting a lot of black smoke out my straight thru weld on muffler? could the gasket be the problem?

if it was head gasket your car would prob run like crap. Check your Coolant and you oil. Wen you do a Oil change look at oil and make sure its not milky white. I suggest change the gasket from the Vtec Selinoid.

But black smoke mean burning oil. When you blew headgasket white smoke out of the exhaust.

wat the? how is black smoke a sign of burning oil? if u were burning oil the smoke would have a bluish grey tint to it...if its black ur running rich...and i doubt its your head gasket..

I was reading another thread on here and the guy was leaking oil in th same spots (under the distributor and down the front by the stamp plate where the head and block meet) but that was SOHC and his was vtec too but I think mine is happing when im hitting vtec it was saying that it could be the distributor o-ring? could that be it? Imma pull the cap and see if there is any oil in there. anybody else got any other input?

If it were the head gasket you'd be burning coolant and your have a low idle.

Something with the rings maybe.
