MotorSpecies ver1.6

Hello, I would like to try and make a diy Gear Position Indicator for my Honda . Ive seen the indicator work on various motorcycle gauge clusters and some automatic cars too. I thought it would be pretty cool to try and mod a gear indicator to my car.
Im in search of ideas on how to make a rig that will fit underneath the center console where the shift lever can press against a button to light up an l.e.d or digital number display. Each gate will have its own button. Any Ideas,Opinions,Thought?Im considering a write up.please help.Thanx.

Sounds kind of interesting. A bit to much work for me but hey. I'd try hitting up some junk yards for the cars that have this setup. Strip the system they have and just retro-fit it to you car. You'll probably need to do a little plastic welding, and some custom brackets to set it up right but there's no reason it shouldn't work. But heres one thing to think about, there isn't very much around our shifters to place something like this, and with aggresive shifting you might whined up knocking stuff down onto your linkage and causing some binding.
