Does the chime not work at all, for anything, lights, key still in ign., seat belt?

Does the dome light work when you open the drivers door? 94

are you talking about a beep that goes off if you shut your car off and leave the lights on to remind you to shut em off?
if so, there isnt one in a da, though newer cars do have them.

Wrong, a 91 Integra does have a warning chime, for lights, seatbelt and key still in ign.

I dont believe it does, ive been in a few DA's and older Honda's (including daily drivers) for that matter and have never heard a warning chime for lights. Unless every one ive been has been broken (unlikely).

The chime works for my seat belts... But the dome light doesn't come on and nothing for leaving keys in ignition

Pull and check the drivers door pin, it is most likely rusty and not making contact.
To test, unplug the lead at the pin-switch and ground the lead, to see if chime/dome light work. 94

well is stand corrected lol i shouldve known not to challenge fcm, that dude knows everything.

but anyway, this must be a super common problem, because every 95- honda ive been in hasnt had them, including my daily da, so now im in to fix mine as well.

where exactly is this door pin?

... and not the thread jack here but will it be the same deal with the light in the hatch not working when the trunk is popped?

In door jamb, below striker... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01...Q5fAccessories it is held in place with 1 screw, under rubber boot.

Contact issues with these switches if fairly common on the older Honda/Acura, they get rusty.

Dome light and trunk/hatch lights are on the same fuse, can you turn on the dome light with the switch at the light, if no check the fuse. 94

Oka so mine didn't look like the picture you posted... It was more of like an L lever but I removed it and grounded it and still nothing.... It had one wire coming out of the back of it I believe it was blue and green if that matters... When I pulled the switch out of the black plastic housing it wasn't rusty except for the part that didn't fit in the black plastic housing...

I'm trying to be very descriptive cause I'm not to car savvy... Would it be a fuse of some sort

thank you for helping too

There are a few diff. ones, depending on MM&Y of car, but you have the pin switch, [L shaped one] and there is only one lead going to it, the lead supplies a ground to the ICU and the ICU in turn supplies a ground to the dome light and the chime circuit.

Does dome light work from pass. door, or can you turn it on with the switch at the light?

There is a fuse for domelight, trunk/hatch light, but it would not prevent chime from working.94

the dome light works if I turn the switch on at the light but it doesn't come on with the passenger door either... =/

So the fuse is good.

You will have to check continuity of the pin switch lead, [green/blue] between the drivers door pin switch and the green/blue going to the ICU, [ICU is mounted to the back of under dash fuse box] also check continuity of the green/red from the ICU to the green/red at the dome light. 94

fcm... i started fiddling with the door pin and grounded it(went and bought a circuit tester) to the car and my chimmer started working... but there still is a lot of rust so when i putt it back together it didnt work... so thinking the rust is interfering? or could it still be the switch... if so where could i find one.. ebay? or do you think an auto parts store will have one? or is there a way to clean it

The rust is what is causing the problem and can be very hard to clean, pick up new ones at Acura.
You can also find them at an auto wrecker, like PicknPull.
Where are you located? 94

well, i had to go try mine after this... i pulled it and it was rusty. i tried sanding it, no luck, then took a wire wheel to it, still no luck. i ended up bending the contact forward a little so the metal meets up nicer and viola, it worked.

Your problem sounds more like a problem with the chime itself or possibly the ICU.

Do your intermitent wipers work?
Does your rear window defog work?
Does the key still in ign. chime still work? 94
