GSR Making terrible sound! Help! (Short video)
Short version: Engine is making a terrible clicking sound at 2500 RPM, Comes from top end of motor near fuel rail/timing belt.
Link:
Long version: I took my valve cover off about a month ago to inspect the timing belt and replace the gasket, about 2 weeks later this sound developed. Today I adjusted my valves and the engine is idling smoother, but I am still having this horrible clicking sound at 2500 RPM. I had a timing belt snap about 40k miles ago, The engine compression tested fine afterwords and I've been driving it ever since with no issues.
Does anyone know what this is? I fear the worst!

Yea sounds like the alt belt slightly chirping or slipping, inspect the belts and replace them.

Took the alternator belt off, sound goes away completely. I put the belt back on (its new) and I still get the ticking at 2500, no matter how tight it is.
Could this be an alternator bearing going bad? if so, do places test/fix them or should the whole thing just be replaced?
Thanks

All belts need to be properly tensioned, go from there and if the sound is still noticable than it probably is the bearing in the alternator going bad.
