gsr or itr ecu?

gsr or itr ecu?
So recently I bought a gsr ecu for my civic b18c1 swap online but it was a bad one. My rpms limit at 5000 sometimes while I drive so I guess ima buy another one. Should I stick to the gsr ecu or is it better to use the itr?

Re: gsr or itr ecu?
So your wanting to know if a gsr ecu or a itr ecu is better for your gsr swap.... hmmm
Check for cels? What makes you think it is ecu that is bad?

Its in a limp mode!!!! did you scan the ecu with a obd scanner? what makes you think its a "bad" ecu? stick with the GSR ecu you have and clear the code or fix the cell.

Omg that would be better! How do I fix it?? When I drive with that ecu, it surges alot when I'm driving at a constant speed. Also the rev limit becomes 5000 while I'm driving. Once that happens the rev limit stays at 5000 until the car is turned off. I had to put my old ecu back on cause the surging problem was so annoying.

If its a obd1 edu you need to jump the plug to get the cell or if its obd2 scan the port and see what codes come up. What ecu did you use to stop the "surging"?
post what year the motor is, and what chassis it is and what ECU you are using obd1 obd2? whats the code on the ecu?

Re: gsr or itr ecu?
98 civic ex with a 98 gsr swap. The gsr ecu is obd2. I don't know what the other ecu is I just know its obd1 cause it was connected with an obd2 to obd1 adapter. The car has an idle problem. Don't know if that is the cause of the surging but its pretty bad when I use the gsr ecu. I don't have the tool to check the codes. Is there any stores I can go where they do it or would i have to buy one?

I cleaned the iacv and I tried looking for a vacuum leak but nada. A friend of mine told me he had the same problem. He said he fixed it by changing the throttle body to a skunk 2 throttle body. Idk if it is that tho.

I wouldnt think its the throttle body if it straightens out with your other ecu plugged in. What is the ecu number on the sticker? P72-a01? is it chipped? If so you may need to get a chip for your set up.
Also check for cels like mentioned before. With obd1 you can check without a scan tool, it only takes a paper clip. Search how to check codes obd1 integra and you will have no trouble finding step by step instructions.

VAC leak, what's this "I put my old ECU back" what is your "old" ecu(pxx?). 2nd get a virgin obd2a p72 ECU non of this chipped crap. You don't need a chipped ecu at all base maps are merely so you can get to the tuner aka $450+ on a dyno, ppl never understand this.
