GSR all-motor build
I got a 2000 GSR motor was broken down so pull it out and planning to throw in a 1999 gsr motor laying around my garage... I barely got it rebuild and it's not in my car yet so i'm planning to do some work on it first before i throw it in, this is what I have planned... HP goal is 175-185 with stock block, this is the setup i have some far...

Re: GSR all-motor build
You'll easily hit the bottom end of your range. The C1 was almost there as is. But I'd skip the 70mm tb. With what your wanting to do, a 70 mm tb will give you 0 manifold vacuum at 40 to 50 percent throttle. It might feel like its faster but your really just losing throttle control. The stock gsr tb is perfect for what your doing. However with getting rid of the iab valves in the gsr manifold your gonna need a serious tune. Btw I'm happy to see realistic goals, I myself rarely have them.

Re: GSR all-motor build
DO NOT USE THE WHALE D*CK!! Over priced pieces of CRAP! N as blackhalo6 said, thags way too much TB for what ur lookin to do by the other parts uve chosen. Im running a 68mm on my b16 only bc im running buddy club cams n nitrous, im also using a stock, self-ported p30 IM. I also run ngk v-power sparkplugs in EVERY honda i own n have owned. On #25 build...i think lol hard to keep track

thanks guys, well i said the whale ***** because I have one already, lol but planning to get an comptech icebox intake... yeah if you guys say that the TB is too much, I'm just planning on keeping my stock one then, and about the sparkplugs... what's the difference between the Iridium IX and the V-power?

Re: GSR all-motor build
The dyno numbers will depend where you go but (lets call it ^^) actual numbers, you should hit the upper half of your goal.
Iridium has a better tip. V power is just the flat copper tip. Theres an article that talks about the arc over voltage benefits while theres many out there arguing the copper tips are fine. Ive used copper and oe platinum and could not feel a difference. Only in price. However i will be going back to platinums when i tune.
Here i linked it for you.

Re: GSR all-motor build
assuming the engine is healthy and can push 250+ psi in all cyls. you'd hit 180-190whp cams and the pistons will bring you there but i'd go with PR3's instead. Tune is the key tho at the end of the day.

Re: GSR all-motor build
New on here. Sounds about right range but like someone said already dynos can vary. Some other things to consider are bore, compression is the block decked-head shaved, cam timing assuming you have good healthy head with a good tune. I would suggest some higher compression pistons if budget allows to complement the cams. I've had and seen good results with civic type r pistons. Look around and check for comparisons and look forward to dyno results.

Re: GSR all-motor build
Make sure all clearances are check on the block and have the rings gapped for the application. Also have the head gone though by a reputable machine shop. Your power goals are easily attainable, but the machine work and proper assembly will be the key part of your build along with tuning.

Re: GSR all-motor build
You will probably be up there as far as injector cycle duty around 90 percent. would recommend bigger altough you might make it even if its not the wisest route. Buddy made 197 to wheels stock injectors walbro pump 91 octane with similar setup different brand items he had brian crower dont remember if stage 1 or 2 reline at 9k with civic type r pistons and pressure gauge reading above 290 cant say for sure cause gauge only went to 290 however needle was going clearly past, id say about 305. He had block decked and shaved head. If you decide on more aggressive pistons and deck or shave head definitely bigger injectors and be sure to check clearances and timing especially with anything 12.5 and over.
