haha now thats funny. is it a bad shock? becuase i think they have like shokcing alarms or something, but you porbably have some kind fo wiring mest up, a bad ground or something.

static electricity maybe?
if its electrical get a big metal pole and duct tape it to yourself. you'll really shock the hell out of yourself.

That's not good...definitely a grounding problem there. I hardly get shocked unless it's a cold dry winter...

I've heard that particular types of tires can actually induce a static charge to the car while moving and of course when you go to get out and touch metal....well you know allready what happens. Not sure that helps in fixing your prob. we can't all afford to get our tires changed out like getting new shoes.
ps. where is "hotter than hell, AZ" located. I thought I was only one on this board who lived there?

I get shocked everytime I get out, too. What do you mean a grounding problem? You mean electronics not being grounded properly?

depends on the shoes you are wearing and the weather at the time
when it is really dry it's pretty bad. i shut the doors by pushing the window to avoid shocks. and yes, the integras are really bad in this area. my friends' integras are all the same.

thats weird, thats never happened in my Teg but thats prolly cuz i have leather. But then again, its never happened in any of my friend's Tegs around here either. The only car that i've been in that did it bad was my old '95 Taurus.

Its the tires. I had the same problem. The static electricty builds up and seeing as though your a nice conductor, wala your shocked.

I had this problem with my old maxima before. It can either be the seat fabric and you are rubbing it while driving or it's the car itself in rather dry weather. You can try some anti static sheets like the stuff you throw in the dryer with clothes and rub that all over your seat, or yourself . Some people have also stuck a small piece of wire (or some kind of grounding device) so it drags from the bottom of the car to the ground to prevent the static chargeup. hth

atlest you dont have to worry about starting a static fire at the gas pump bc you ground yourself well every time you get out of the car!!!!

exactly.
Try this and you won't get shocked 99% of the time. Before getting your *** out of the seat, open the door and put your palm on the metal chassis. With your palm on the chassis, slowly exit the car, and then close the door. Works wonders. try it.

This used to happen to me all the time when I first bought my car. After like the first 3 months it stopped. It still happens every once in awhile. And leather doesn't exclude from being shocked, I've got black leather interior.

fabric and leather are electrical insulators. Your body can get charged when rubbing against insulators (such as rubbing agianst cloth and leather). Therefore when you try to touch the chassis of a car (such as closing a door), the electrical charge from your body discharges and hence you feel a shock.

I was just letting him know that leather isn't the reason he isn't getting shocked.
