Gettin my Teggy Re-painted today. New member BTW
hey everybody im a lil new to this site but i've had my 95 LS teggy for about 3 years and it's come a long way. i just recently got it re-painted Ruby Red Pearl (R-504P), but i have to take it back tomorrow to get the lower part of the front bumper, my JDM ITR wing, and my JDM ITR power folding mirrors re-done because they came out a diff shade of red. its just a little lighter than the rest of the car but it still bothers me. now i know what ur thinking. its all the painters fault. ur wrong. what happened was that he ran out of paint after painting the body, side moldings, fenders, front lip, rear lip, oem optional sides, top half of the front bumper, rear bumper, and the hood (he takes the whole car apart to make sure EVERYTHING gets painted right). understandable reason why he would run out of paint so he ordered some more paint to finish the rest of the parts and after they dried we noticed that they were a little lighter than the rest of the car so he told me to take it to him tomorrow and he will re-do it for free. he just needs to get the paint matched up correctly. i cant wait til its done. of course i will post up pics when everything is perfect so you guys can see.

the thing is that when we got the second order of paint it looked like it matched. after he sprayed it everything looked fine but when the paint dried it came out a shade lighter. no worries though because everthing will be perfect come wednesday when i pick it up. btw i would shave my moldings but then what would protect my doors from people who park next to me and don't pay attention when they open their doors into my car? no matter how far away from people you park there will always be that one idiot looking for a spot that parks in the open one RIGHT NEXT TO THE PRETTY TEG.

haha DcLS saw a lady hit his car with a chart at work. she pushed the chart and it turned n smack. **** like that happens all the time. your paint should have tested the paint with test strips on something. thats a smart way to do it. cuz the paintes should know it changes shades when it drys. that how it is at my work. people always try to return their paint cuz it came out wrong.

actually i blame it all on the shop that mixes the paint. i brought in a molding as a sample so they can match the paint perfectly but since they where in "such a hurry to close up shop" they didnt compare the paint and the molding in the spectrum analyzer after they were done mixing the paint. like i said its not my painters fault, it was shop that he orders the paint from. im going tommorrow to make sure that they do it right this time because i want my car done already so i can slap it completely together.
