F$@#!! 96 GSR won't shift into any gear/stuck in gear
Began with this:
So my clutch master Cylinder went right as people were leaving for the tuning event. I bought a replacement and put it on today. However, I cannot seem to get it bled. No matter what I do, it does not stay up where it should. I need to have this done tomorrow cause my roommate need his car back. Could someone give me advice on what I am doing wrong, or maybe stop over tomorrow night to help me out? Would consider help tonight, but I am going to be at dinner for an hour or so.
All help is appretiated. Thanks.
then went to this:
F#@$!!!!!!!!!
Just swapped the new slave on and bled everything. started the car and it would not shift into gear.
Here is what is going on:
rommate was driving the car when it became very hard to shift into or out of any gear. limped it home.
looked it over. Had two acura service guys look at the car. concluded the Clutch Master Cyl went (leaking pretty good). Parked the car and waited for the master to get in at advanced.
Got the master, put it on, but couldn't get the clutch to come back all the way. Forgot to adjust it. Since I had to take it off, I bought the slave cyl and tonight adjusted the master to the same as the previous one, and then put the slave cyl on.
shift through gears with the car off and it shifts fine. Clutch pedal had the same pressure, but engages back a little further than it used to (towards the fire wall)
Start the car and it won't shift into any gear. when you try to shift into a gear, the RPM's go down like it's pressing against the flywheel.
Turned the car off. In neutral, ebrake off, you can't push the car forward.
Put the car into gear and started the car and it lurched forward. I did this once and was able to keep it going and it drove fine, no grinding or anything, just couldn't shift it.
So it seems like it is still engaged all the time.
And now I am stuck as for what to do. does anyone know what could be up with this? Does the clutch need to be adjusted more? I really need to get this fixed tomorrow cause I need to go out of town this weekend.

oddly enough me and my buddy just went through this whole thing with his gsr just last week. he replaced his master and slave cylinder and nothing fixed it. But just this past weekend he replaced his throwout bearing clutch and pressure plate. now everything is as soft as butter. When he took off his trans he noticed all of the splines on the pressure plate were bent and angled wierd. But now its perfect.

this exact thing happened to me and it was a broken clutch spring, take my advice and DONT try to jam it in gear (I have dead synchros now, and bought a new tranny)

Any suggestions for places to get a clutch in Rochester, ny?
Advanced has one for $280 and can have it here tomorrow. That's the best time frame since i am currently without a car.

I'd check ebay...
Just make sure you aren't buying crap...
You should be able to keep it under $200 easily.
I think I got my clutchmasters clutch for right around $130 on there.

Nope. Only put it into gear when the car was off. I don't like to make things worse. The O2 sensor went when I got the car back though.
Anyone got one of those they could send me cheap?

Don't go for the deal. Fix it right or don't fix it and sell it. The GSR is too nice of a car to be pieced back together with parts from andvance auto!
