Default Exhaust question

guys... I need some inputs/thought/suggestions .... my budget on the exhaust system is $400 - $700 that is it no more than that. Goals: Boost the car and hope to get 250 - 300whp. I've been looking at Apex-I, Greddy and HKS... but they kinda out of my budget or should I just go to the muffler shop and tell them to bend me a 2.50 pipe and save that money to do something else.

I would think it would cost more or the same to bend a custom exhaust than it would to buy a direct fit system. Unless of course you know people.

I like the thermal R&D cat backs on boosted cars. Not sure what they sound like N/A.
Beyond that I'm useless for opinions. I'm an OEM guy, I'd jump for a type R cat back.

Buddy Club Spec III exhaust for your Teg: $600 or cheaper (after tax/shipping)

i got a buddy who used one for awhile after he boosted his ITR, he had no complaints. Although i'm not sure on the diameter of the pipe, i wouldn't go less than 3" on a turbo build.

They quote me for $200 just the pipe, muffler not included. But I don't know what kind of metal the use for the pipe, I know for sure is it no stainless steel.

I have to break-in the car and probably drive it for 6 months before boost. Can I drive around with 3" pipe? I'm sure the 02 sensor will get freak out other than that I can't see anything else would harm the car.

you could but it'll sound like **** and it'll "backfire" a lot. That exhaust is pretty much right up your alley, i'd go for that in 2 1/2 for now and then just have 3" cat back bent later...or just do like the cool kids and dump it right after the header.
