exedy stage 1 clutch
i heard this is an upgrade for OEM clutch but a little better? well my next clutch, i want it to be stiffer and have a lower engaging point......will this clutch do this? im not familiar with clutches since i never had to replace one. if its not the clutch, then what is needed to get a stiffer pedal and lower engaging point? flywheel?<---dont even know what that does

Re: exedy stage 1 clutch (TOO MUCH TORQUE)
No the flywheel does not control the engagement point, and this clutch is slighty stiffer than the stock clutch.

Re: (TOO MUCH TORQUE)
I can honestly tell you I'm not sure if it changes the engaging point. It will defininetly grab harder, but I'm not sure if higher duty clutches actually change the catch point. I would love to know also..

not good news.....i could care less if it is stiffer, i just want it to have a lower engaging point. stiffer is just a plus but lower engaging point is a must. Ive driven my friends gsr and ek and i can make the car shift a lot more smoother.

You usually pay a shop when it involves transmission work... clutch, flywheel, etc. Couple hundred from the shop.

I plan on doing my clutch myself.. I paid for a clutch on my last car and spent over $700 for a non upgraded clutch.. not doing that again

All it takes is you, a friend or two, a jack (one is ok, but two is better), and about four hours. More if you take your time, and there's nothing wrong with that
Edit: Oh, and the stage 1 isn't bad at all for a stock ish car. I like mine.

This is news to me, especially because I only thought it worked for cable transmissions.
