at the dyno right now....99 GSR making no power??
Quick run through.
B18c1 will full bolt ons (tanabe exhaust, rsr ceramic coated header, pwjdm whale *****) and s2 IM. Everything else is stock. Comp test read 210 across the board. Pulled valve cover everything is fine. Spark plugs look good. Injectors are fine.
Did a few pulls and the graph read 148/115. It feels sluggish like its making no power. Timing has been both raised and lowered by the tuner with no luck. What could cause this? Did a run with the cat off and made no major difference. Any ideas?

im using s300.
Fuel: 93. 3 days old.
Tuner says everything is mechanically sound. It stumped everyone. We tried different intakes, borescoped the intake manifold and its fine. What could cause a 15-20hp loss? i'm assuming some sort of blockage.

so in that sheet, you where making 151hp/117tq. ..... have you changed your vtec cross over? almost looks like you have a major torque dip when vtec would normally hit(4400rpm) and then it goes up. hp curve looks good.

The tuner was doing everything so not sure if he played around with vtec engagement. He said he tried everything with no luck. I'm very mechanically inclined, however i'm no expert tuner. What are some other common areas of blockage besides cat/exhaust? what are some some parts i should remove and inspect/clean that might be the culprit? i'll be taking the car tomorrow to Tony Palo at http://www.t1racedevelopment.com/ and i'll see what he has to say. i'll update when i find something out!
edit: i do have s300 so i can upload the logs and ignition/fuel maps if that would help anybody

yes, the timing belt/water was replaced last week along with the pcv valve and all new seals all around. We checked the timing belt again just to make sure. Tension was fine and it was not skipping any teeth. i'll take pictures when i get home.

edit: i plan on doing some major cleaning of all the bolt-ons this weekend. maybe i find a clog and its an easy fix. Oh and the fuel pressure is good to go. Oil pump is also bueno.

yes 140-145 depending on engine health. The motor comp tested 210 across all cylinders and that was after doing 8 or so dyno pulls so its good to go.

should actually be 150-155, but it also depends on the dyno.

Try switching out that s2 mani for your stock one. You have a bottle neck of air flow from your intake to TB then a huge opening in your IM. I know its a drastic comparision but think of and hour glass. Only so much can get through at one time.

Stock GSR on DynoJets 140-145, true.
You are now at 151whp with some mediocre bolt-ons.
The Tanabe exhaust, is not known to be one of the best. Do you still have a cat on the car?
The rsr ceramic coated header isn't the greatest either.
The pwjdm whale ***** is terrible. Looks cool.
The Skunk2 manifold I hope it is Pro version, at least the runner angle will match the head.
I'm not trying to be a ***** but what you have listed really wouldn't add the power you’re expecting.
You're still at 10:1 compression and stock GSR cams. From what I remember I maxed out my GSR cams at 170 and the GSR manifold at 180-185 with higher compression and custom exhaust.
What kind of power did you make on the first pass and was your tuner able to get you some gains in the top end? Adjusting the timing and fuel you should have at least seen these gains.
At most with your parts listed I would think 160ish might be possible.

ok. after checking everything i possibly could without pulling the head, i didn't find anything wrong. I'm no expert i doubt anything internally is damaged.
-I don't burn oil
-no leaks AT ALL
-comp tests are consistently above average
-I'm getting awesome gas mileage 25/33
-it drives great
-tranny shifts like pudding.
The previous 2 owners drove that car using a jdm itr ecu. a total of about 3 years. in 2011 only 3k miles were put on the car. i picked her up in dec of 2011 and switched out the ecu for a stock gsr one then the tuned p28 that im using now.
What are the effects of running rich for that long?
i know that japanese fuel is general at least 5 octane points higher that what is available in the US. With the more aggressive jdm itr maps my thoughts are that a significant amount if gunk has built up due to the excess fuel not being properly utilized. It does have the stock cat but we did a run with the cat off and saw no improvement in power.
What are some other common areas that can be clogged?
