Dumb Noob question about ABS
Hey I just had a quick question for you DC owners, the ABS system on an Integ, can you just disable it by pulling the fuse, or is this bad for the car? Also when removing the ABS do you need different brake pads or anything? Sorry if these are dumb questions....let me know thanks.

Well I just wanted to see if there is a big difference between ABS and non-ABS driving...it might work out for me ya know? Just want to try something new. Thanks for the reply.

yes you can pull the fuse and nothing bad will happen but if you are looking to remove the entire unit it is a pretty involved process. search for abs removal in the archives and there is a huge thread on it.

You would get away with leaving the standard brake pads & discs etc but you would have to replace all the brake lines (and possibly the master cylinder which may be different on ABS/non-ABS models - correct me if I'm wrong) to remove the system completely.
There would be no real need to remove the sensors, they'd not be doing any harm.
You'd also want to look at removing the ABS failure light on the dash, just so as it wouldn't bug you...especially at night!
But I have to ask why?! Having changed from a car with ABS to one without I have to say it's terrible!!

Just want to see what if feels like, that's why I was just wondering about pulling the fuse so I don't have to take the system out to get the feel. Thanks for the advice.

the only difference is that your brakes witll lock up alot easier which is pretty cool in dry conditions just beacuse of the sweet marks and smoke but buying new tires sucks too..... but i dont suggest it in wet weather

So you want to feel skidding and being out of control? **** i hope you got full coverage on your car.
P.S. I hope you dont think that ABS is some sort of a traction device that doesnt let you go fast. lol
