Dead Alternator or what??
I was driving around last night and my interior lights started to dim and my radio shut off, my abs light came on and the battery light. I pulled over and my car was idling really low and then it just shut off, i tried starting it back up and just clicked. A few hours later i got it started again and i had the same problem lights got dim, battery light and abs came on then i just died and pretty much had no power to roll the windows up. Could this be from a bad alternator or what may be the problem?? Thanks

Re: Dead Alternator or what??
sounds like alternator, here is the exact way to tell, charge the battery up so that the car can crank, then once you crank the car, get a multi-meter and check the voltage at the battery, if the battery is reading somewhere in the area of 12.5v or less then your car is just running on the charged battery, if the battery is reading around 13.8v or even higher, then your alternator is charging, when the alternator is turning it has to supply the battery its nominal voltage plus 1-2v in order to charge it and run other 12v loads while driving. So get it cranked, check your voltage and you will have a good answer, also check the alternator fuses, there is a large 80a fuse in the fuse box right next to the battery, and there is also an alternator fuse under the dash (at least i know there is on 0bd2 integra's). If that fuse blows the alternator will not charge the battery.
