dc header gains
Ok 'I'm a turbo guy so go easy on me here. How much hp gains should I see(or lose) by installing a dc 4-1 header on my 1st gen b16. 4-5 hp gained? Should I just leave the stock mani in place? This is for my winter beater.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You're not really going to see a whole lot of power gains. With some tuning, you might see a few hp gained, but in stock form, the good ol' butt dyno might be the only one to notice a difference. Personally, i wouldnt waste my money or time...

Alright. I installed the dc 4-1 and it feels like I lost power in the 3-5000 rpm range. I put the stock mani back on and noticed an improvement in the mid rpms instantly. All the dc header did was make the car noticibly louder.

The 4-1 is built for high end gains. 4-2-1 is built for low to mid gains.

Like everything in a car, the manifold/header is part of a system of things that are supposed to work together. Just swapping the stock manifold for a header (even a very good one) will almost never yield notably positive results.

If you are reffering to me I have a 2.5 cat back. No bottleneck here.

What size is your header collector, catalytic inlet and outlet?
