Re: da9licious' r3tard build thread
^ I really havent done much of anything to the DA lately i've been more interested in growing my beard, playing magic the gathering and rebuilding scooters...pretty strange combination of things i know... I have 6 scooters currently the orange (Honda Reflex) one I usually daily,
then a honda Aero I will put an elite125 motor into one day
a nice rare scooter I found/rebuilt on craigslist (DJ-1RR) they didn't sell them here but it has a chambered pipe and and the same motor as the DIO
Then the stock met that i'll leave stock...
and two elites I saved from a dumpster! (literally!!!)
the one on the right is a part out for sure the one on the left however...
i'll keep...
580 miles on the thing none of the plastics are even broken (except the headlight housing) I bet I could have it up and running in a free weekend no problem but I'll take my time make sure it's all perfect.
best part is the matte black spraypaint comes off with some graffiti remover and some elbow grease.
The DA has only gotten a very small amount of love sense my last post. I have been gradually taking white scrap vinyl from work and wrapping the car with a piece here and there. I have enough to to the whole car but just havent yet.
I've also been working way more hours so i'll have more money to put into it. I think the biggest updates are going to come sometime early next year when my wife gets deployed and i have nothing to do with myself! Thanks for looking!

Re: da9licious' r3tard build thread
HAHA i'm surprised at the attention! I figured no one gave two ***** about DA's these days. @collkid, I think I bought the met for around $200 and sold it for $600 it was more a surprise for my wife but she never really rode it so i decided to sell it. The orange and black reflex (that I have recently painted matte black) is the only one I really ride out of the scooters. (The money i've saved on gas alone in the first 15 months of owning the scooter was enough to pay for the scooter, and that is in comparison to the 23-24 mpg I get daily driving my civic. I dont really feel like i have to justify the use of a scooter to anyone but honestly I'm surprised that more people dont drive them. Americans are too proud i think...) the DJ-1RR has seen some upgrades, bigger carb, premix oil plug/ long throttle cable conversion ( for a stretch and the 28mm carb) i'm hoping once i get a big bore kit for it and tune it in to see around 60-70 mph top speed on it (not bad for 80cc!) lately the weather has had me in the civic for the majority of the time.
Truth be told a good amount of my motivation is fueled by the company I keep, I live in the middle of bum-f^Ck Oklahoma currently and find it hard to get to my garage (even though it IS attached to my house) and wrench on a 4-year old project... a good buddy of mine said the only thing that is keeping me from finishing it is the fact i haven't driven it in so long. (I've forgotten why i loved this car in the first place)
Anyway... maybe i'll drag my fat *** out to the garage and get something done...maybe i wont

Re: da9licious' r3tard build thread
Although I prefer the 92-93 front bumper I found a 90-91 in better condition then mine at a pick-n-pull ($53!) so i'm going to roll with a conversion for a while.
Also started re-assembly. it's taking a bit longer then I hoped. mainly because I've moved twice and I have to look through boxes upon boxes to find the right hardware and pieces (one of the reasons i went to the pick and pull in the first place LOL)
anyway sorry for the cell-phone pictures. The color isnt accurate but you get the gist..

Re: da9licious' r3tard build thread
I haven't been updating this thread much lately.
I had my SSR's powdercoated, for tires i went with 205 45 r16 bridgestone potenzas (done have pictures currently)
finished my front brake setup, brakes are all bled and ready to go
decided to go slightly a slightly different direction with the engine bay, I made a cold air intake out of some 2/5" piping, went with a black VC, and built a custom radiator overflow out of a beer bottle and some a/n fittings
i'll have more pictures soon. decided to buy a new fuel tank and i'm waiting on a fuel pump. once the fuel pump is here ill be able to test the tfuel system , then finish the wiring. car should be finished sometime within the next few months.
