im pretty sure there is a fuse for the seatbelts, just been a while since i had to deal with my seal belts not sliding.. check the underhood fuse box an the fuse box in the kick pannel. there's also a motor for the belts that could have gon bad.. doubt it but possible i assume.

yeah i googled and what not and all the old post usually deal with one side going bad. with mine, both are bad.

also, apparently, acura has a lifetime warranty on the seat belts so if i cant figure it out im just gonna drop it off there. im just trying to avoid the hassle of all that

yea i herd they do honor that warranty as well, but if your saying both your's are not working.. most likely just a fuse or relay. keep us posted on the fix.. g/l

The seatbelt control box is behind the passenger kick panel, should only be held on by one 10mm bolt. Grab a new one on g2ic.

The lifetime warranty is not a sure-fire way to get them fixed. Acura has been known to either not honor it claiming the part that is bad is technically not a seatbelt-assembly part...and most are now charging a $100+ inspection/diagnostic fee when you come in and they will ONLY refund that if the problem ends up being covered by the warranty. You could call the main Acura US headquarters and complain to them, and get them to send you and your local Acura dealer a letter...this has worked in some cases because based on the fine-print of that warranty, if the seatbelts fail to operate under NORMAL CONDITIONS they shall be fixed under that warranty. This means if you didn't mess with / modify / etc the seatbelts, they just plain don't work on their own...they should be covered.

My driver seatbelt slides forward when door is opened, but does not slide back when door is closed, and causes the sound/light to annoy the hell out of me. I had to unplug the motor and manually pull the belt back, and attach/detach when I'm in/out of the car. Sucks, but it works until I can get around to replacing the whole assembly once I find a DB1 parts car.

Hmmmm. I really appreciate both of your inputs. Socalistic you were real helpful. I just think it's odd that neither feel like working. I highly doubt both motors went out. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

And as far as Acura goes, my car is absolutely bone stock. Haven't even changed the radio so if I can't figure it out hopefully they can.

And it's not a necessity. It's just annoying manually buckling up like that

If both belts are completely dead, I'd say there's a 90% chance it's that seatbelt control box. Find a friend parting their DA/DB out, or jump on g2ic and post a wanted ad for one.

While I can't speak on the part of those who have had issues with the power belts and warranty work, Santa Monica Acura performed the inspection of the system for me for free, and ended up replacing nearly everything as well. New belts, sliders, rails, and motors, and no charge. This was on my 1990 LS.

So, I got new seat belts, a car wash, and a cup of coffee, for free...

OP, try calling your local dealer, ask for the shop manager, and see what he has to say concerning the belt warranty.

+1.

Park Acura here in Akron did mine. And its NOWHERE near stock. And I got a free rental for the day since I had to go to work. And when I picked my DA up, they had even washed and vacuumed it like it was a newer model!
