Default Catalytic converter heat shield problem

I just wanna know if its safe to remove the heat shield from my catalytic converter....Im assuming its the catalytic converter shield. It rattles pretty loud when i get the rpms up to around 3 or 4 grand. Also any idea of the where abouts of it would be nice to know too. I dont do much mechanic work as you can see. I just like acuras and i wanna drive this damn thing without that noise....Help a brotha out.
