Car whistles when you apply throttle... why?
I have a b20z in my 92 Integra
I'm pretty sure I have a vaccum leak.. but not quite sure where (my idle sucks)
When I bought my header (comptech) it has what appeared to be a small hole in it. I had it rewelded and it looks fine (but I can't be certain).
I had neve really thought that the whistle could be my header... untill I read another post here
thoughts?
(Is there any way to check a header for leaks?)

Re: (shogun-dc2)
whistle could be a majority of things, including a loose fender cover, etc
best bet if to check your engine and then deduce one by one
could be a misaligned tire too

Re: (bpo)
I've always had the CAI on the ccar.. it didn't whistle with my b18, but now it whistles with the b20.
I'm trying to think back and It may have whistled when I put the b20 in, but not the header yet
any other suggestions?

Re: (TurBoTeG)
is it loud enough to hear in the car with the windows up?
The nly reason mine doesn;t drive me crazy is that the intake drowns it out.

same here, my intake whistles as well. when you are on the freeway, does the whistle only seem to be heard at a certain RPM? this will also help in determining if it is in fact your intake, short of driving with your hood off and a friend strapped to the window looking into the engine bay to see where that noise is coming from!

it feels a LOT better
its not significantly faster, but the extra torque makes a big difference.... especially in a 2600lb car (in a CRX or EG I'm sure it would be nuts)

I had almost the exact problem, the only time it would whisstle was when i would apply the throttle, i put a greddy header on and noticed the OEM header had a large crack in it, as soon as i put the Greddy ones on the whisstle went away, check them out

I hope its not my comptech header... I guess I can inspect it when I put my new head on
