cant rev past 7000 WHY
I have a 94 JDM GSR in my civic with a P72 ECU... no codes, no power loss, I think I have vtec but not sure lol and I cant rev past 7000 Ive read about GSRs they redline at 8200 top hp at like 7600 i cant make it past 7000
When I had a bad spark plug after I first did the swap it redlined occasionally over 8000 but had power loss now but i replaced the plugs and everything else seems ot be fine just it wont go past 7
Any Suggestions?

Re: cant rev past 7000 WHY (JohnnyWash1)
What should I install to get rid of my Revlimit
I also wanna get a Vtec controller of some sort so i can set my Vtec point before the secondaries kick in because with my old 1.6 motor Vtec was noticable I heard a hissing sound but with DOHC the secondaries are too loud I cant hear if I have vtec at all

is your vtec solenoid fried?
try taking the lid off the top of your airbox. you should be able to hear the engagement when the secondaries open @ 6K rpms.

My secondaries kick in at 4400 and vtec kicks in at 5600 i got it checked today and my mistake it does only say B18C on the block i checked that as well it must be my ECU maybe its USDM would that cause me to revlimit at 7k

its the other way around. 4400 vtec kick in. 5600 secondaries open up

Re: (ALMXDUPINTEGRA)
is there a way of telling besides the sticker on the side panel of the ECU because that could have been stuck on there or something

Re: (ALMXDUPINTEGRA)
See if you can switch out ECUs with one of your GSR car buds, or something like that. I assume you have a couple hanging around. Just give er a try to see if your ECU is messed up.

Re: (ALMXDUPINTEGRA)
your vtec would not run if you have an ls ecu. i still don't understand why you can't tell if you have vtec or not, you should be able to hear it and feel a decent pull. if you have a jdm b18c which you claim, vtec should kick in at 5100 rpms, stock anyways. My guess is either you have no clue what your looking for and/or you need a new ecu. Just my .02 though.

Re: cant rev past 7000 WHY (stivic)
cold rev limit.
check your thermostat signal to your ecu. not the one that runs to your console, but the one that tells your ecu that your engine is warm.
