a/c not working
so heres the issue...my 97 teg has a/c...but the compressor clutch is not engaging so obviously its blowing out hot air. check the connector for the compressor clutch and it is not getting any power but i cant find a relay or switch or anything that would...anyone know what controls the power to the compressor clutch and where it is?

the compressor is not kicking on because you have low pressure in the system. the ac pressure switch cuts the circuit off when its too low to protect the compressor.

Get yourself a 20 Haynes manual from autozone, it has a detailed section on a/c diagnosis with photos of where the low pressure switch and relays are located.
You should jump the lower pressure switch first to see if the a/c clutch engages. If its does, then it sounds like your freon and low and you will need to charge the a/c system with more freon.

Question: How are you suppose to recharge it if the compressor doesn't turn on?

Yes, if it is just that the pressure is too low in the system you could jumper it and it will engage. Then you'll know to just add some R134A on the LOW side.

No, I think your wiring issue is gone. I got that all fixed for you. I think you're having the same weird problem this guy is having. I even checked your diode for you and that was good.

That was my problem right there. Turned out to be a melted wire hitting the exhaust manifold causing the + and - wires to touch therefore blowing the fuse. Scratched my head on that one for a bit...

Re: (Jo3f1sh)
Installed an aftermarket radiator and the mounts for the condensor fan weren't perfect so it tweaked the condensor fan blades and made the motor strain, causing a blown fuse. The blown condensor fan fuse cause the a/c clutch not to engage. I though the condensor fan wasn't coming on cause the a/c clutch was getting power. It took me a few days to figure out the problem
