CTR Pistons+Stage2 Cams+Turbo=?
So I have a fully built all motor gsr for high compression. CTR pistons, stock gsr rods were machined to fit the pistons, stage 2 skunk2 tuner cams. All bolt ons upgraded also and running no cat. My question is if anybody here has turboed a gsr with ctr pistons and stock rods, how many lbs did you go and how much power did you make? was it reliable? I have spent a lot time and money building this motor, it walks on stock RSX type S all day XD
But my friends are all turboed and walk all over me....Im gonna change that!
I dont want this motor to blow, so i wanna know how much of a beating the rods can take and how much WHP or boost i can go before i start risking detonating. I also have skunk2 fuel rail and hondata s300..... let me know what you think. I was planning on running 4-5lbs of boost and stay just under 300whp. Motor has been rebuilt from the ground up and is healthy, i plan on switching over to e85 also. should i worry about head studs?

you will not get 300whp off 4-5lb boost. i think your compression is probably going to be too high, why dont you use a compression calculator and get an idea of where you are at right now. all in all, i think this sounds like a poorly thought out plan

Import sports has made 300 whp with a build similar to mine w 5lbs. I just question the reliability of it. Cr is mid to low 12.

i will agree with what has been said. your CR is a little too high for that kind of plan. just because someone can provide a dyno sheet thats great BUT how long did it run after they dyno. hell i can get a car to the dyno and back home missing a headbolt and a few cam bolts but that doesnt mean itll last any longer.

he said under 300 whp and it also depends on what size turbo he used. although i would rather sugguest he sells the motor and buy a ls or another gsr then boost that

I want to aim for 250whp, im at 205whp right now. It seems like a safe goal. Once I get enough money I will upgrade internals and get lower compression pistons. I just want to know if you guys think the motor can handle 250 safely. Has anybody here done a turbo with ctr pistons??
I do have an LS but its my daily, its bone stock, and I rather not touch that.
