Default b20/vtec breaking at 6k rpms?@

The integra i bought has a b20b block, 00 si head, ys1 tranny... p28 mugen chipped ecu... the guy i bought it from says the vtec kicks in at 6k rpm's and he said its a good spot but i shift about 7k and i think 6k is too high.. what do you guys think?
i was thinking maybe get a vafc2 and dyno tuning..

Well thats definitely too high if they are stock cams. You'll need a dyno and a vtec controller to figure out exactly where the best point is.

8k is pretty safe from what i've seen. the two people i know of running stock blocks were regularly hitting 8300 on the circuit. so that is lap after lap of abuse. no cracked sleeves to report...

yeah everything is stock right now... i guess ill take it in for a vtec controller and dyno tune... how much do dyno tunings cost usually?

i pay $185 at DynoSpotRacing....sometimes a trustworthy tuner is worth the few extra bucks!

I have heard people paying $120 - $185 for tuning session
