b16 or b18 head?
I have a b18b1, mostly stock. I want to do an ls vtec conversion, but don't know whether I should go with a b16 vtec head (as they seem plentiful around me) or hold out and try to find a b18 vtec head (as they seem much harder to find around me).
I was wondering what the difference would be between the two of them on my mostly stock integra. I will upgrade everything else necessary along with it, but I can't seem to find anywhere that can tell me the difference between the two setups.
So how about guys? B16 or B18 Head?

Re: b16 or b18 head?
If you're gonna rebuild the head as well, get whichever is cheaper. The B16 head is the same casting as an ITR B18C5 head. The GSR head is different from the B16/ITR heads but if you're gonna swap the cams, valvetrain, intake manifold, etc. it won't make that much difference. The GSR head will give you a bit more compression because of the chamber design, but as far as flow, both will flow well.

use the P72-2 Head (OBD-2), P72 ecu(obd1) worked great for me until i got it chipped, and then it was a beast. i also used 90-91 ls block if you have another year make sure you install a breather box to vent the crank case as i dont know if all the ls blocks have one.

Re: b16 or b18 head?
So it looks like the GSR head would be best. That's actually what I was leaning toward. Saw a whole top end (Head, IM, TB, etc) on ebay last night go for $480. Anyway, I know someone who will sell me a whole top end of the engine for $800. Should I go this route, or should I try to just get the head and do the other stuff.

Man, the b16's are so much cheaper and easier to find. but the GSR head has a higher compression and has a quench pad to help protect it from detonation. (or so I read)
