AXLES AUTOZONE, OEM, NO NAME rebuilds, which do you recommend???

but since the topic kind of changed I made a new thread to get some more views/input from the life experience of others.
after some searching I was under the impression that if I get NEW not rebuilt Looks like Autozone has a few brands and both REMAN/REBUILDS and NEW axles. GCK, Duragold???
Please post your experiences with different axles, both good and bad. thanks

oh, not looking for performance beefy 600whp axles. Just good replacements in the same price range of the ones available at Autozone, roughly $80-$100

I've been using autozone axles for close to 50k miles. They are not as good as OEM. They break easily at the track, when launching, but for daily driving they work for me. Another thing to consider is that autozone has a really good no hassle warranty. If u were to get a bad one, they wont give you any trouble as some other auto shops.
I just remembered also, I installed autozone axles for my girlfriend on her stock 97 honda civic, and no problems whatsoever. Just dont get them if you plan on going to the track or launching often.

i have autozone lift time warentee axels and they do suk but its ok cuz if they break and the will you can just get new ones for free with no hassele
they do break really easy when you launch
i break them all the time. i go through about a set every year

i just installed a reman autozone axle today. looks like decent quality. went in super smooth. unlike the one i bought from pepboys, which was 2 inches too short and the outter splines were way too big. you cant really beat autozones price and warranty.

thanks for the input guys. Can you guys let me know if you got the NEW or REMAN/REBUILT ones when you post too? Thanks, I'll got 200whp now and plan to go no more than ~230whp The car doesn't see the track and probably never will. And I don't do any extreme hard launches.

I got a GCK from Advance Auto Parts (~70 after friend's discount ) and it has held up nicely. He recommended that I not get the remaned axles, as he has gone through quite a lot of them himself. They're cheaper, but like some of the others have said, there can be some serious quality issues with them.

I would just go to honda and buy some oem gsr axles for your car even if it isn't a gsr i know guys pushing 350hp and having no problem with their oem gsr axles. If you would rather up grade depending on how much hp ur pushing get either 300hp or 500hp axles.

when my axels were shot......i searched on ebay and found a set of used gsr axels off of a 01 integra for $120 shipped to my door..... Sometime i see new axels on there as well. Just a suggestion to check out ebay

those look good but again I don't plan on spending that much. I had OEM one before and they held up fine for my ~200whp. I don't think in that power range beefy aftermarket axles are needed. I ended up swapping out my OEM GSR axles for some crappy rebuilt crap to fix a problem that ended having NOTHING to do with my axles. The OEM GSR axles got returned for core charge so those are gone. I was just trying to get a feel on if certain OEM type replacements are good and which to stay away from. I just ordered some GCK Axles from Autozone this weekend online. They are NEW so NO core charge, but yes, when I called the local store they WANTED A CORE even though I'm asking for NEW axles.

I'm going to replace my axles soon, and intially was going to purchase reman CCT axles from Autozone. But after reading about all their problems, I'm leaning towards new GCK axles. They have a Lifetime warranty and are new axles. Their cost is about $110/ axle.
I also looked at getting axles from Raxles.com. Marty is a good guy and very knowledgable. His prices are fairly good at $119/axle.

I'm running a set of them on my teg w/ b16a. I think they are pretty good...my friend with an ITR'd Civic blew one up, but it had quite a few miles on it.
They work fine. Got quite a few turbo cars out here pushing 300whp ++ with those axels... no worries.

I guess I should say that I FINALLY got a pair of decent (non-vibrating) CCT axles from NAPA (same reman'd brand that AutoZone carries). I first replaced my OEM axles w/ over 165K miles on them back in May, and currently I'm on my fourth set of reman's. 
But these seem to be okay so no complaints I guess.

i used to run a parts store, so here's my parts pro view on axles: the advance auto parts (where i used to work) and auto zone (i talk to people that work there) reman axles (CCT) are crap, but both have good hassle free lifetime warranties so you'll be a pro at changing them out eventually!.....i have, however, had a few customers that have had no problems at all....however, i dont know how all my customers treat thier cars!.......as far as the new (GCK) aftermarket ones go, i havent really had any complaints on those, but then again, not too many people buy them bc they dont want to spend the extra money...........so, with this said, when my cv boots started leaking, i took my honda axles out and just rebooted them to try and save the honda ones......they've been fine ever since and havent had any problems!......just my .02 cents!
