Another confused da9 owner
I just bought a 1991 da9 b18 engine and need to get it smogged today. My question has to do with my fluctuating idle. I have cleaned the fitv, iacv, and sprayed down tb inside and out along with wiping inside with rag to get it cleaned out as best I could. After doing all this my idle just stayed the same but in lower rpm's and after making sure I had no vacuum leaks and no air in cooling system I noticed the screw on tb had been scraped of its factory grey stuff in order to turn it. If everything I did to clean everything was done correctly and like I said before my idle still goes up and down but at lower rpms would that screw being at the wrong factory position cause this issue also. I have even tried turning fitv adjustment all the way in to bypass it. is the iacv still not cleaned enough or maybe bad and by disconnecting the plug to it do I also need to jumper ecu under dash so computer doesn't make any changes while iacv is disconnected and by adjusting screw on tb to base idle of 650rpm?
