Ok My freind wants to race me in my g/f's integra gsr. He has a stock 2002 stock acura rsx type-s with 6 speed tranny. My g/f has a 2001 Integra GSR with aem CAI, JDM 4-1 header with 2.5 in outlet, Carsound 2.5 inch cat, and Apexi N1 catback exhaust. So I was wondering which car you would bet your money on. thanks

i agree w/ that. imo driver wins this race. but if i were driving i would want to b in the gs-r. that car has some good mods that work well together and definetly improve your top end. if i had to bet i'd go w/ the gs-r but depends on which one is a better driver. my guess is he'll get u off the line by a car or less and then you'll reel him in a win by half a car

alright thanks do u think it would be a good idea for me to put my 16" team dynamic motorsport wheels with yokohoma a520 tires on it to get my traction off the line or should i keep the stock 15" 6 bladed wheels.

Maybe it's because you asked this in the Integra forum or I underestimate the mods can on the GSR, but I can't see how the GSR even have a chance against the Type S. I'd put money on the Type S.

what tires do u have on the stock 15 inchers??? if there the stock michelins then definetly switch to the 16's w/ the 520's. neither of them r great drag tires but u should have a considerable more amount of grip with the yok's vs. the michelins. good luck

Get to work pulling some interior pieces in the GSR and buy your friend a big meal. It'd be a close race. GSR is down on power but has a weight advantage. I have yet to see an RSX driven well, but that may just be out here in the sticks.

i forgot to add she also has new iridium spark plugs and msd ignition wires not like that will help much. So if I take out the spare tire, passeger seats. floor mats, and all her girlish crap I might have a pretty good shot. I dont want to strip this car fully because I will have to put it all back for her by the next day.

I think you should gut the hell out of the car, it doesnt take but seriously a minute to take out the front passenger seat, and about 3 minutes to take out the rear seat
take out the spare and junk in back....Honestly, ive seen stock type s' tear up slightly modded GSR's, but id like to see the Gsr win. It could infact be a drivers race.....practice your launches and good luck

If you can drive, you'll win, esp w/ those mods. I'm not impressed w/ the Type S.

BTW, tell yuor GF to get some damn suspension on that car.

the apexi coilovers and type r control arms are on the way right now for her car they should be here in about a week or 2. She just has to decide on a set of wheels/tires. How do u take out the rear seats. I want to show my freind up in the type s. By the way I will be driving the car not her I dont trust her to win the race. I just wish my dad was like hers and would buy me everything i wanted god damn ***** haha nah shes cool though

honestly dont worry bout the rear seats. its a waste in imo. i try to save weight anyway i can. but when i removed the rear seats it saved 15-20 lbs at the most. i was suprised the stuff was so light. definetly take out the spare, jack, and front seat. that should b good for 50 lbs give or take. also remove the P/S belt for another hp or 2.

alright I will see if one of my freinds with video tape it from the out side. If he will then I will post some video's of the race. I hope I win this one because he talks so much about his car when it kind of sucks for the price he paid and its ugly.

The rear seats are easy to take out. There is two clips that hold the top parts in, fold them down and one side at time push the seat towards the center and pull the plastic clip on the pin that goes into the plastic molding on the side of the car. Then push the seat towards that pin and it will come off of the center mount. Fold the tops and the rear carpet into one nice package and then you'll see the only bolt holding the rear bottom on. Take it out and then pop front of the seat free. It's easier to get back there with the passenger seat already out. In my opinion it's too easy to take out not to save the 15-20 pounds.

Passenger seat -- 35-45 pounds, Rear seat -- 15-20 pounds, Spare tire and jack/tools -- 25-30 pounds, Various stuff including wooden board from hatch, floormats, anything in the center console/doors/glovebox -- 10-15 pounds. That could be a total savings of 85-110 pounds, and 100 pounds will knock a tenth off of your et.

I don't know who'll win if you leave both cars alone but it appears from all the 'remove this' posts that they don't think you can beat the S the way the car is now. All I know is if the mags (which usually everyone says can't drive) can get 6.1 and 14.8 times then if you can't beat that then you can't win.

Yea but if were doing magazine times Car&Driver got a 15.1 out of the 95 GSR so it would still be a drivers race,the S having a slight edge.

I just gutted my '97 GSR and since I've only been driving stick for a little while I let a friend run it and he got a 14.9. It's stock, 100K miles, with crappy tires. You'll win if your a good driver.

id bet on the GS-R, maybe you will be behind in the beginning but the 3rd gear in the gs-r should reel him.
