Icon2 95 Gsr stage 1 lag

Hey guys so my 95 gsr has 200k on it and runs good, but recently it feels like when stage 1 kicks in the acceleration actually slows just a little but enough to notice it. When stage 2 engages I don't feel that hesitation anymore. Any thoughts.. currently have header back exhaust, skunk 2 stage 2 cams, port and polished head and intake manifold, and short ram intake.. Thanks

I bought the car with the cams installed and the owner was a Honda mechanic so I can only assume it was tuned correctly. Engine idles and sounds fine. A bit of valve chatter when cold that's about it. The oil level is a touch under the top hole. And i don't remember this issue when I got the car..

lol everyone's a Honda mechanic these days... check to see if the ECU is chipped or its a EMS system or worst case stock. also have you confirmed that it has tuner 2 cams?

How do I check to see of the ecu is chipped I'm assuming you mean the s100 or better. And i haven't confirmed the cams but he did give me the stock cams as well. So there's something in there. I'm guessing pull the valve cover to confirm or do I have to go further. I've never messed with cams before.

It's a stock gsr manifold that has been port and polished. Again so I am told.

honestly that is probably just the manifold holding you back, if you say once it hits stage two aka vtec its fine I wouldn't worry. just get a ultra series or pro series manifold it will be gone then.

Agreed I looked at some the other day. But i am curious to see if my car has ever been tuned. How can I check for the chip. Where is ecu located in 95 gsr..thanks for the help..also to tune the car must a Hondata be present. Can you tune stock ecu..

passenger side kick panel or foot well, take a pic and post it, no there are cheap methods like ecTune or CHROME which can be done on a "chip".
