Icon2 92 Integra Thermostat Housing Leak

Okay guys, I have a 1992 Acura Integra GSR. It has the original B17A1 with 180,xxx miles. The issue that I am having with it is that I have a small leak from the thermostat housing, it is nothing crazy but I have to add to and I can see the leak.

I replaced my thermostat with one from o'reillys with a brand new gasket. Didn't work. I replaced my thermostat with a brand new one from Honda with a brand new gasket. Didn't work. I cleaned the entire surface of the thermostat housing and thermostat inlet to make sure it was a flush fit. Didn't work. Cleaned it again and applied Honda-bond around the outer edge to create a nice seal. Didn't work. I bought a brand new thermostat housing inlet and replaced this. Didn't work. I will attach a diagram of where the leak is and what is going on. Any suggestions on this?

I did a compression test and I don't believe it is a blown headgasket or anything. I am assuming that it is the actual thermostat housing may be cracked or bowed and causing this issue. I can't seem to find another one online new that I could buy, any input on what this could be or what to try?

Thanks guys.

Stupid question, are you putting the thermostat gasket on correctly?

So how can you see that? Looking up under the car?

Why not try to replace the housing itself?

I had almost this exact issue before and it was the water pipe and it was dripping down and around the housing, making it seem like it was leaking from the housing itself.

Why would you even think that is a blown head gasket? It is simply a coolant leak.

Yes, I am lining up the pin in the grove on the thermostat and gasket is seating in properly.

You can watch it drip if you take a flashlight and look right below the thermostat housing.

I think my next option is to replace the thermostat housing. I can't find any online, do you think I would need to go to a junkyard for this part?

I have replaced the water neck/thermostat housing inlet with a brand new one and this didn't resolve the issue.

Thanks.

pressure test the cooling system and inspect where exactly the leak is honda bond should if fixed it. Could be a Leak from the hose running down

I have checked and have never seen or felt any wetness comming from the end of the hose. I could replace this but I don't really want to just start throwing parts at it if I don't have to. I will look into pressure testing the cooling system. Thank you.

Yes but in the location it is in, how can you be 100% certain it is coming from there and not running down....

I'd get one from the junkyard or AcuraOEMParts.com

I agree, put pressure on the system and see where it is leaking from, easier when it's not hot LOL

You could try and resurface the matting area.
