90 integra problems

90 integra problems
well my integra has been sittin for about a month or so and i started it today, it started up with no problem's. i turned off the car and i tryed to start it again and nothing, i turn the key half way before starting it and no cluster light's come on no oil light no ebrake light nothing, but if i turn the key all the way like if i where to start it all the light's come on, if i engage the clutch and turn the key to start it the car sound's like it want's to start but then i let go of the key and it turn's right off ??? i did kinda hear asound coming from the altenator could it be that maybe ? but if it is the altenator why dont the light's on the cluster come on or hear the fuel pump turn on before i start the car

This could be a very simple fix. How old is the battery? Take it to auto parts store like Pep-boys or Auto Zone. They'll test it for free.
If that's not it, Then it could be the alternator, not capable of holding a charge.
If none of those 2 solve your issue, may want to look at replacing the distributor.
If you have a friend who has the same car/engine as you, borrow their distrib. to test and see if your car will crank over without problems. Then you'll know.
Check the inside of the cap, if you see red residue, that's a tell tale sign that the distrib. is going to fail soon. IF no residue, check and possibly replace the plugs, plug wires along with the cap.
If that's not it, Then it could be the alternator, not capable of holding a charge.

well i took the altenator off today and i took it to autozone just to double check that it didnt work. so got it tested and it passed altenator was still good..? so i checked all my ground's checked all my fuses pretty much double checked everything i had no ecu code's nothing... so i started messing with the ignition and i tryed to start it and bam it started up somthing inside my ignition is tripping out anyone ever have this problem ? how offen do ignition's go bad, oh ps it was a bitch to take that fu*ken altenator out lol i was hating it
