Default 3rd Gen Integra Or 4th Gen Prelude

Hello Fellow HT members
Im ina bit of a pickle, and i cant decide. Wanted to have some oppinion's from all of you to make it easier. Im 21 years old, my First car was a 2nd Gen integra. I loved that car for all of the 2 years i had it. i was buying a 95 GS privately. long story short, things didn't go well now im looking for another car. i wanted to look for another 3rd Gen, but at the moment cant seem to find anything but an RS, and any other 1's that Are LS or GS, r all in automatic. I've been lookin in the classifieds for some time now, and on the net. The 4th Gen Ludes look ok i guess, but i just cant make the decission. Should i just keep looking until i find another 3rd Gen Teg, or Grab a 4th Gen Lude.I know this is an Integra Forum, but since i used to own 1 and still love them, Why not ask someone with the same Love for the car as myself. any Bias oppinions Would be greatly Appreciated

honestly i'd wait for the teg to come around, preludes are nice rides i just think there is more potential in the teg. plus they look hella sweet with mods

You're obviously going to bet biased opinions asking this in the integra section. 4th gen preludes have nice body styling but the interior is horrid to me. Very uncomfortable and whats with that dash and those gauges? IMO integras are better looking. WAY BETTER INTERIOR. They are also lighter, cheaper and easier to mod. 92-00 civic or 94-01 integra would be my only choice honestly.

Had the same problem before.

I just bought a 2000 LS on Friday. I LOVE IT! It's smooth riding, the acceleration is strong and the car is just great looking. Look for a GSR. The good part is, you don't have to go spend as much on it as you would the LS to have the same hp.
The Prelude is a nice car, but you can't beat 30 mpg

The RS is the lightest of the tegs. To me, that would be reason enough to get one over an LS or GS.

Then again, I love my GSR, I just wish it wasn't so damn heavy. With a half tank of gas, it tipped the scale at 2815 lbs with me in it.

It really is a matter of preference. Familiarize yourself with both cars, drive one of each, and decide. I'm partial to the DC2, but when my GSR got stolen, before I got it back, I was seriously considering getting a Prelude. It's all up to you, just inform yourself as best you can before deciding.

you also need to think about your plans for the car......the integra is much more "user-friendly" when i comes to building it. not to mention the options and routes to take are greater when modding a teg.

Although I've only owned integras, I really liked the preludes because they seem to fit me better then the integra, being that I am fairly tall and feel like Im sitting 8 inches above the car vs down in the car like a "sports" car should be.

Must be looking at gross weight vs curb weight.......DAs weigh in at like 2600. I think a 94+ GSR weighs in around 2650 if I remember correctly.

Ya cause my 2000 ls with full interior and 60 lb sub box weighed in at 2640 lbs on a scale that rounds off by 20 lb. increments.

hehhehe...kinda funny i ran into this thread...I am a 4TH GEN PRELUDE owner...i must say i agree with you in the fact that the dash is ugly, but the Prelude is a natural sports car. the double-wishbone suspension is amazing at handling curves (true story ) and the 180 hp at the wheels factory that you get with a PRELUDE VTEC model stock is great...

think about it...A real honda-designed sports car(PRELUDE) or an Integra RS that people spend tons of cash mod out to be a sports car, which its not meant to be...its a Commuter Car...HAha...i laugh at that

also 4thGen Preludes were in Car and Drivers Top Ten List year after year during the 4th Gen ERA

I love my DC2. IMO, I like the style of teh teg over the Lude. I'm not much of a racer, but my Gs-R get things done. So if you were gona ask me what to pick, I would say DC2 just because I'm a DC2 person, lol... sorry Lude, no hard feelings... right? Were still family... =D

This is totally unbiased, and is a FACT:

Preludes are ugly

Ask this same question in the Prelude forum and see what responses you get

word to that.

being the fact that i have owned both i need to voice my opinion.

i used to own a 01 gsr that i had to sell for insurance reasons. picked up a 92 prelude base model and swapped a jdm h22 in there. the whole time owning the prelude, i missed my gsr. here recently the throw out bearing decided to go on the lude so i went searching for another car. missing the integra so dearly, i stumbled on a 95 Integra SE 5 speed. feels sooooo good to be back in a teg again, but its got me missing VTEC.

so being biased in niether direction, choose what you think youd be happy with down the road. preludes are a riot to drive and not to many people modify 4th gens (at least around where i live) so its kind of unique. but damn if it doesnt feel good to roll around in a clean 3rd gen teg.

good luck

93Ls-tegra, you MUST have a ******* HUGE stereo.

Back on topic, you should definitely go with a teg.

What really distinguishes the integra from other cars is the fact that its a jack-of-all-trades car. great exterior, great interior, strong engine, reliable company, amazing modding communities, common car. Cheap repairs, lots of power, great all around car for racing or daily driving.

You can be GARUNTEED that you will LOVE the teg you buy, while you dont have any idea if you would like the prelude. Stick with what you know and love, others can attest to that.

as for awards, 94 and 95 were really up there. i remember that, lol...

prelude may have more stock power, but the teg is a better car.
