1995 RS Integra... Multiple issues, need some help and brainstorming.
Ok, so a couple of weeks ago i was driving on the highway in 4th gear near redline (for a few mins i guess) and my car dies. It just kind of cuts out, and i roll to the next offramp (thankfully close by) and i call my friend and we tow my car to my house. When i was stopped i noticed a small pool of oil collecting under my car, and since my oil light was flashing i assumed enough oil dripped out and i went low on oil and seized my engine.
So today, i FINALLY have time to work on this bitch, and im really confused about whats wrong with it. First of all, my car does not crank over with the starter. I tried boosting it and that didnt work either. This made sense to me at first, since i thought the engine was seized. I tried turning the engine over by hand and it wasnt actually seized, so i took step two.
I tried run-starting (by pushing with another car and then popping the clutch) and the car actually started. I wasnt the one driving, but the person driving said it was very rough. I didnt want to leave it running incase i damaged something, so i didnt get a chance to hear it for myself. I think it was low on oil again because of that stupid drip.
I dont know how i can check CEL codes if i cant start the car, kind of an ironic situation.
So here is whats going on:
1 - car wont crank over with starter
2 - car died on highway
3 - oil leaking (like crazy)
4 - car runs, but roughly
if anyone has any input as to why my engine is doing this, please let me know.

First, if you dont even know how to check the oil, maybe its time to take it to a shop. I mean, "I think it is low on oil." GO CHECK THE OIL!!!! I mean, if the oil light came on either you're having some electrical problems or you're 4 quarts low on oil. That should be easy to check. If you're 4 quarts low, then theres probably a good reason why the engine is running rough (ie, you spun a rod bearing). Anyway, if the starter isnt turning over, check the fuses.

Re: (94rs-turbo)
i know its low on oil, maybe i phrased that poorly.
ITS LOW ON OIL. yes, the oil light came on because i was 4 quarts low on oil, i know this. at the time i failed to care which was stupid of me.
is there any way to check CELs while the car isnt turned on?
my main concern is why is my car not cranking over... it just doesnt add up.

Re: (nickzed20)
Checking the CEL is an easy process, simply jumper the little 2 pin connector over by the ecu and turn the car to the "ON" position and it will flash. Count the flashes, look up the code. I think there is a sticky at the top of the forum that shows what # (ie, the number of flashes) is what problem. On a serious note, if you drove your car for any length of time with the oil light on then the engine has about an 85% of being trashed, no oil = spun bearings. Rememeber, redline + no oil = trashed engine.

Thats the sticky thread, first link in it is the ECU codes.
Edit: just reread your post and was the oil light flashing when you were on interestate or did it only start after the car died? If it was after then you might be ok.

Re: (95 integra)
it was flashing while i was driving...
ok so if you can check the codes while the ignition is on, then that means i dont have any codes. i thought the engine had to be running which is why iw asnt throwing anything.
my only concern now is why is my starter not working? why isnt the car cranking over... is there some way i can try to jump the starter to see if it will crank with power fed to it?

Re: (Sam92Teg)
sounds like you dont really care about your engine, why would you redline in fourth and then keep going when your oil light is flashing?! If you want to drive it hard you need to keep up on regular maintinence. get ready to spend lots of money to fix it

Re: (teg racer 877)
ok guys... i just had some time to work on my car
and i took out the starter, tested it outside the car, and it works. i did some testing with my multimeter, and it turns out im not getting power to my solenoid.
any idea as to why im not getting power to my solenoid? i checked all my fuses, they are good (i think). if anyone knows which fuse exactly to check i will check again.

Re: (nickzed20)
ok guys... thanks for all the help.
today i figured out that the solenoid wasnt getting power, i jumped it, put oil in the engine and started it up. i saw a shitload of oil spraying from behind the AC compressor, so i took it off and look what i found sitting nicely behind it.

Re: (95 integra)
yeah a picture that say your not register.
I just read it today and it sounds like you threw a rod through your block from lack of oil. Now you have a nice hole behind your a/c compressor.

Re: (maxrpm)
i became a member and i still could not view the picture... regardless... the oil light flashing means YOU NEED OIL...
oil = lubrication = smooth operation
lets give you another example, the first time you are about to get laid... have her use a non-lubricated female condom, and you dont use any lubrication... you will see what you did to your engine

1 - car wont crank over with starter
CHECK ALL GROUNDS!!! if not grounded yes it will push start but it wont start by itself
2 - car died on highway
could possibly be Altenator out
3 - oil leaking (like crazy) try to find out where from maybe blown head gasket
4 - car runs, but roughly
this is what makes me think blown head gasket
check oil cap see if a milky brown

Re: (ECKOTYPER)
he most likely didnt throw a rod unless he was running on no coolant or a filled block. I say this because if he did there would be more than a puddle of oil... there would be a puddle of coolant...

i know im an idiot, blah blah. im the kind of guy who has to learn the hard way. i had a 92 VX hatch that i beat the **** out of even worse then this, treated even poorly (figuring i wanted to blow the engine just for the ***** of it) and it never went, i didnt believe i could actually blow it up. but it happend.
thanks for everyone's help!

Maybe because you shredded half your wiring harness. BTW, if you arent going to treat your car/motor with atleast a little respect, then please dont post here asking for our help. I dont feel like wasting my time/knowledge on people who dont give a ****.

Re: (teg racer 877)
i do give a ****, but the engine was in terrible condition.
considering that it burnt/leaked all that oil in about a day or two, im not that upset about what happend. this isnt how i treat all my engines, trust me.
i am not asking for your pitty, i was simply asking for an opinion. i need to learn the hard way, its the way i am. and trust me, after this i am taking extra care of the engines which are more important to me (ie: when i swap in the new engine, my k20, k24, etc.). Its a learning experience!
