i charge $80 for lowering spring install ( $70 for coil overs)....

what kind of shop can i go to to get it done? the places ive called like midas and jiffy lube wont do it

If I charged someone $150 for that amount of work, I'd seriously feel like I was ripping them off. I'm not part of a shop or anything, but I've done that install, and it's really not that bad. When I first got my Integra, I called around, and some places wanted close to $400 to do it! I'll never understand why people feel the need to charge so much for this. Good luck to you.

IF you live in NOVA, all the shops are going to charge you that much, your best bet is trying to do it yourself, or finding a member who can help you.
If you don't personally know anybody who works at a shop or have a real nice hook up in NOVA expect to be ripped off

One piece of advice - be careful who you choose. Some morons put my springs on backwards when i got it done, the first time.
I got it done for $200 (the second time) b/c there aren't a whole hell of a lot of places that feel comfortable doing what seems so simple. I'd guess I rather they were uncomfortable than too stupid to know their limitations. I got quoted $680 by the dealer (the second time, as I knew they were a ****) and $500-600 by most shops.
Some place like California, where imports are big means there are enough folks (who do installs) to keep prices down.

Agreed. Not everyone is mechanically inclined, have the tools accessible nor have the free time. I guess if you have little going on in life and have loads of time, you can take the car apart to learn. Can you afford to be carless if you break something and have to order additional parts? think...

My suggestion is to replace the shocks and struts along with the lowering springs. I'd like to hear otherwise if someone thinks differently.

agreed on the first part. here in so cal, a friend of mine had coilovers and kyb shocks installed by a well known shop. They didn't even bolt the shocks in
EDIT: for anyone in So Cal (orange county area) who wants a shop to do it, i recommend Dynamic Autosports. They did my civic's shocks and springs for $80 flat (and I don't know anyone there
)
