Default Is $450 a Good price for tranny and installation!?!

i have a 95 acura integra ls. my tranny cracked and wont go into gear. i got a quote of 450 for ls tranny and installation. he said he'll also install solid mount for trans. and new trans fluid, is that a good price?

yeah it is but its still on the car so and it has no grinds or popouts.

that's crackhead pricing. most shops charge that just for labor.

yup def a steal, round here jdm shops sell used trannys for 600$ and thats only LS trannys.. $800 for gsr's and 1000$ for type R's

then 5 hours labour at 80-100$ an hour

id say do it do it !

and you even live in jdm city

we pay more down in the states due to freight.

OP is getting a screaming deal. dude may just need the money

^agreed^

Buying a used transmissions sucks because you never know what you are getting until you pay someone 300 bucks to install the thing. Its a dodgy ordeal at best. My advise is exhaust all options and be as picky as you possibly can. Last thing you need is pay all that money and then have the thing grind on you like a fat chick at a wedding.

it might not be a bad idea to swap out clutches and rear main too...

just had the tranny replaced. runs great no grinds or popouts, the clutch was a stage 2 and it still had a good amount of meat left so i just had it put back on. only thing else that i bought was a new flywheel but i also found out i need a new rear motor mount to :/
