Skunk2 all day....get the wieghted **** and duel bend shifter and it'll be the smoothest shift you've ever pushed.

I don't have any experience with either one, but I heard that sometimes the B&M one will hit against your exhaust.

With all the stories lately about how bad it has been to deal with Skunk2 I figure you'd just go with B&M also seeing as how B&M have been making ss for a long *** time with proven reliability.

back from the dead!

question: which is a shorter throw?!

i drove a DC the other day with a B&M and it was pretty short.. but i dont like the way it sits up straight... the stocker even has a little tilt towards the driver.. i felt short... like i had to reach far to grab it.

back from the dead i see. i have the same B&M shifter you are talking about. personally, i don't think it's that bad (well then again i'm 6'3"). i've never driven with the skunk. came close to buying one, but i found my B&M on ebay for $35 w/shipping. but if you don't like the way that one sits, they have 2 others. a single bend and a double bend.

What's the URL to the site? Is it a knockoff or legit?

Sounds a bit too cheap for me... <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by philosofy1 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">back from the dead i see. i have the same B&M shifter you are talking about. personally, i don't think it's that bad (well then again i'm 6'3"). i've never driven with the skunk. came close to buying one, but i found my B&M on ebay for $35 w/shipping. but if you don't like the way that one sits, they have 2 others. a single bend and a double bend.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Was it a real B&M?

yes it is a real B&M, i don't buy cheap ****. the bid started out for $20. no else made a bid so i won it for $20 and paid $15 for shipping. came in the B&M box. it is made of steel and is very heavy, not like the aluminum APC or ebay knock off's for $5. this is how it looks:

sometimes you kind find good quality **** on ebay for real cheap. but of coarse no one has to bid on them for it to happen.

Well I dont have a real b&m shifter but I have the b&m style shifter evasive motorsports is selling and I say it's excellent quality. The shifter is heavier than the stock piece and the shift distance is greatly decresed, also your exhaust hangs in the stock location (a plus for lowered cars). For the skunk2 shifter I have to say it's made according to those cheap aluminum where the bottom piece of the the shifter is long and will require the resonator to be hung lower to clear the shifter.

The only con about the straight b&m shifter is if you have short arms then you will find it uncomfortable other than that its a great shifter.

the B&M shifter is great for a D series swap.

but with the larger shift linkage on the B series, your only option is to add washers to the bolt that holds the short shifter in place, and more time then others, will result in vibrations and irritating noises.

the skunk 2 on the other hand, comes with a custom bolt, and fits D and B series shifter linkage to a tee.

I love my Skunk2

Stock 94 Integra shifter is the best I've ever driven, but Skunk2 gets my vote between Skunk vs. B&M.

ditto...i've heard B&M snapping during shift as well...but i dont know what **** people use...the way how i see it is...the **** is not just for comfort...it act as a counterweight...so if you got with a combo set...example...skunk shifter + skunk **** = cant go wrong. as for me i currently have GSR (stock) shifter with Civic ****...and i love it but again that just my .02 cents

B&M or nothing. I've had experience with everything and the B&M $50 one is the best I've used.

I have a Skunk with a weighted ****, Shifts nice and crisp, but i will say this much the tech support from Skunk sucks. My shifter rubbed on the exhaust and came with "extra" parts of which they at Skunk did not even know what they were for. Shifter also had no instructions. An Apexi exhaust cured the rubbing problem.

I like a modified stock shifter. If you can weld this is the best. OEM quality, can pick how much of short throw you want and can pick how long you want the shifter to be, plus its stock still. Sometimes thats a plus for people, but I was condsering one of these ***** glad someone asked the question.
