wow, very nice! Quick newb question, where your bends meet the collector, I noticed a few times that they use some type of welded bar from collector to bend, same thing as to keep IC pipping from popping off. Why is that there?

Does the turbo stick up out of the hood? Also, is that wastegate going get enough of the flow/flow enough so you don't get boost spiking?

It will get more then enou flow the wastegate is routed properly.

The manifold is for a sand rail

Those are tabs with bolt's through them to hold the collector solid

Thats one of the best placed wastegates I have ever seen.

yeh, the location looks fine. I just thought the piping to the wastegate and the wastegate looked a lil small in comparison w/ the size of the turbo. maybe I am too used to seeing turbo's like that on methanol set ups, with two huge wastegates so that they don't boost spike.

Well, the inlet on the wastegate probally isn't much larger in diameter than the piping is (if any at all). that downpipe (or uppipe? lol) is sick. 4"?

Yup yup. That's definitely one of the better designed manifolds I've seen... split scroll + paired cylinders help a la Bucci just as much as the merge collectors and thoughtful wastegate placement.

The wastegate only needs to vent as muhc boost as your not going to use

MY choice would have been a tial personally and thanks!

Incorrect, wastegates do not vent boost, and as small as you can run without getting boost creep is not ideal. Wastegates are a wonderful method of bleeding off unneeded manifold pressure to increase VE, scavenging, and knock limit. It takes a lot of pressure to spool the turbo, and not much to maintain a certain flow. Sure, you pick up a big pressure drop using a larger turbine, but you can improve upon it with proper wastegate positioning + size.

ok then let me correct myself mr over assuming.

Wastegates vent exhaust pressure to reduce the amount of boost pressure produced by the turbo charger unit.

I never said as small as possible without getting creep was ideal we didn't choose the wastegate sizing. As stated before i would have chosen a different wastegate myself.

Are you stating the waste gate is positioned incorrectly? not trying to be standoffish just asking the question

Nope, I think the positioning looks pretty good, myself. I'd just go bigger, or run twins is all.

It's it just me or does no one see that the manifold goes upwards, like thru the hood.

How the hell is anyone suppose to use that on a race car or street car???

I don't get it, looks nice but how about the function wise part?? how will it fit under the hood??

Dave that is 16. ga and yes of course we are going to brace/support the turbo, because that is the proper way to do it.
