A few friends and I have been kicking around the idea of starting up an autox/driving club locally, as the SCCA events at FEDEX tend to be overcrowded, and the MMSports events down in Richmond are a haul for some people. This would be pretty informal, just a fun thing to expose people to sanctioned driving events in a cheap and convenient environment.
As of now, we've run into a few snags, the largest being a place to actually hold the events, other than events run by other organizations (for example, HPDEs at Summit or something). I've been reviewing the NASA CCR as well, and if we could get 100 members we'd qualify as a NASA-sanctioned club, and would be able to get autox insurance which would be otherwise unavailable.
So...anyone interested or have any suggestions?
Edit: Mods, if this is inappropriate, please let me know.

Yeah, this is definitely not Honda-exclusive. UMBC MIGHT by some bizarre chance let us run, but the parking lots aren't really big enough. If we got some people from College Park involved, that might be another story. Otherwise, something like a vacant mall parking lot or something, with the owner's approval of course.

I would be interested in joining, no mods on my car, yet, but planning on it in the very near future. My old car would have been better to join, that had a lot of mods. I'll have pics of my car very soon, but if anyone is curious, I have pics of my old car.

There are two days left to register for the BMW event... I'd sign up IMO, the group is very nice that runs the autox.

UMCP certainly has the parking lots and has organized car stuff in the past (there's a car page somewhere too).
I don't have the time to look into yet unfortunately.

And you may even hold FTD for half the day with them! That is, until a certain pro runs in a certain beat old 535 and beats you by 2s

Thanks Tweak, I appreciate it. As for affording it, while $30 or $40 for autoxing isn't a big deal, money is the one reason I'm not back on track until November
