Default Question for those with Ground Control's

My ground controls showed up today and I have a question. I ordered 400# fronts and 500# rears. The front springs are 8" long and the rear are 7" long.

Is that the right length for the rear springs? I thought that the rear springs should be longer???

Also, does anyone have an oppinion on how this will ride/handle

-------------------------
Just incase anyone is wondering these are going on a GSR with Bilstien sports and ITR LCA's

Thanks,

matthewk

More weight in the front = longer springs.

You can order your spring rates AND spring heights

7" for the fronts are too small in height for the front, it will be slammed (front) even WITH the perch set on the uppermost part of the threaded collar there is way too much weight in the front,I had mine at 325lbs and it sucked! I couldnt adjust the ride height

8" for the rears will be fine
you will sit with a 2 finger gap for the fronts on the highest part of the collar but still...

I think to fully take advantage of the adjustability of the collar you should get a 9 or 10 if you plan to adjust the height

I swapped out mine and went to ITR springs with KYB AGX's and I love it!
goodluck

as for how it will handle it will be nice BUT you will hate it when you bottom out your suspension when you hit a bad imperfection in the road especially on the freeway,I think the ground control springs are too short and you lose out on suspension travel.

I use the GC setup and my rear springs are 600# 7".

Just make sure you cut your bumpstops and don't overly lower the car.

I only plan on going down maybe 1" to 1.25" in the rear. Is that going to be ok?

BPR:
so 8" is the length to get for the front?
also which perch are you using on the bilstein shocks?

yoshi - whose debating between lowdowns and bilsteins

I myself got 8" fronts and 7" rears. You just have to plat=y around with it until you get the height you're looking for

I used the ground control perch which had a ring on the inside of the sleeve which they considered a "Koni/Bilstein adapter".

I too considered the lowdowns but ended up trying this setup out instead, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

I'm pretty sure we used a 7" spring on the fronts for my car.

You have to specify to GC that you are using (larger) Bilstein shocks and they will give you the appropriate perch.

I will dig up the part #'s for you......

This is the rear.

The threaded body is about twice as long as the one for the front.

I hope that my ITA rear LCA's get here today!!!
