Yeah, on saturday morning Todd was all frentic and **** because the car had moved only as far as on the trailer and off the trailer, and looked like he just came off a 7-day crack bender.

So far it's got open exhaust, gutted cats (2 of which bolt directly to the head, so no header is possible), homebrew cold air intake & airbox.
No ECU tuning yet, no dyno runs yet. Everything we do has to be made because no one makes anything for this car but we are also keeping durability in mind because of the 25 hour in December.
Took 5th in each HC race this weekend.
Front splitter did not make through the second race.
H&R custom valved suspension (1st TL parts off H&R's line), Toyo tires, Comptech Acura CL-S (yes it fits) flywheel & clutch.

BEAUTIFUL DAY.
unfortunately all my pix have that damn fence in the way i wish i had a press pass or whatever it takes to get around the fence! but there are a few good ones that will be up later.
this was my first HC and i was in awe the whole day.

I don't have that info. I'm sure someone at work does though as all our developments go to the wind tunnel, usually several times; but it's not likely that they would share that info.

After all, those who have been following the BEST MOTORing/HOT VERSION videos knows that stock-to-stock, the DC5 and the EP3 are very much faster than the CL7 (Accord Euro-R) on the race-track. However, Ichishima's answer took me by surprise. He doesn't think the DC5 is as good a base as the CL7. In fact, he admits to be unimpressed with the DC5 as a base for modifications. 'It's based on a van', he says, 'it's a Stream Coupe !'. Similarly the EP3 to him is a 'Stream hot-hatch'. The CL7 Accord Euro-R to him is the best all-round current generation Type-R model made by Honda.

Hah, I can't believe you took a pic of that!

You would've loved today, the stunna level was at least 4 times as high as yesterday, everytime the cars weren't running all you'd hear was bass, even from the stands on the backstretch.

on thurs at 11:50 pm we started her up the first time and warmed the motor to op temp successfully. we considered that "ready as it can be at this time!", packed it up and i left for mid o friday morning. so yeah, i was a little frantic on saturday, especially as we had no practice, just a qualifying round on sat morning, then the race! went out for qualifying and did 2 laps at 60 mph or so. A/F was reading 15.5 to 16.5:1. not too good, so i came back to the pits. DFL for the race

made a few huge adjustments (seat of the pants types of adjustments) to richen her up. did the race on sat, but was really just happy to have it drive around and keep going "rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrvvvvvvvvrrrrrrroooooooooooom" for the whole 25 minutes. lots of smoke coming out and a bad vibration turned out to be two blown up cv boots/joints. shades of corey....... ?
worked on it til 10 pm replacing axle bits; thanx to pete curpier for the wd40 straw and the suggestion to "vent" the fixed up axles!
went out qualifying sun and still some smoke and vibration. came in early; fairly poor qualifying run; i think 20th or 21st (mid 1:45. this is approximately Hope's cool down laps!). decided on the grid that i was going to really race it this time, and only quit if catastrophe was imminent! standing start ended up bad for me; they packed us in like sardines; i was on the outside and just no where for me to go; i had tons of power to pull ahead, just nowhere to go. we go thru turn 1 about 20 wide (or so it seemed!). i was right behind Carpenter, and saw his hood fly up and completely block the view. he kinda gently slowed and stayed straight and i got around on right, several others on left. down the big back straight and i am still in heavy traffic all around; suddenly, two cars come together in front of me; a third crashes into the first two; Roedinger in the blue/orange H1 hatch goes 4wheeling off the left of the track; somehow with luck and a touch of skill i skate thru that whole mess! at that point i think "course is still green for a very short time, lets move!" so i did. passed back i think almost all the H4 maniacs that were in front of me. and i "unleashed" the K...... man o man! let me say first that i have only driven an LS before this. a "strict" LS, no VTEC. a completely built to the rules LS. no comparison to my new K. mine is a K20A2 from a wrecking yard in PA. stock stock. no cams, nothing. just a one off custom header from Northend Service (he welded it up from scratch in 24 hours for me!) and a filter on a stick and an untuned Kpro ecu (now fluctuating between 12.4 and 13.7 on the A/F. acceptable for now). the K, even with all the extra weight it has to haul around MOVES. it zooooooms down the straights and just seems to pick up more steam the faster it goes. tach was saying 7700 rpm at the end of the back stretch in 5th gear with the stock box and fd. don't know how fast that is; speedo was buried beyond the numbers. it felt like "ridiculous speed"

and so the mayhem continued. a cars blew up and there was days of thunder smoke levels twice or three times; evans was one, i think a white crx was another. i ran thru oil entering the carosel once and thought i bought it; somehow found a dry patch of pavement and the car caught and stayed on the track. i saw Kent go airborne and crashland in the mud off the outside of the track throwing up an amazing amount of mud and water. with two laps to go, i could actually still see the "fast" pack ahead of me; chad was there, Scot was there, TL was there, and several others. they were pulling away, but slowly. i tried really hard to make ground, but couldn't. i was really really really glad i had set the rev limit to 8200, otherwise i would have revved higher in the race. alot higher, cause it was pulling like a locomotive up there; and i had a little bit of the red mist, and i think i might have hurt her. don't want to do that yet!!!!!
so one lap to go, and a feel the vibration. the damn axle type vibration. white S2000 was about 20 lengths back; i slowed just enough to make it around and at the same time stay ahead of him; mission accomplished; i think i finished 6th or 7th; don't really know, cause i hung around for a little bit, no results released, and i went home (10 hour drive).
i'd have liked to know what laps times i ran during the race; anyone with a sheet? it was no where near the fast fast guys, but it felt pretty good; maybe a 1:43 or so....
i had a really fun weekend, and can't wait for summit!
