wtt: 91 MR2 non-turbo in southeast Pa for swapped eg hatch
The Car:
1991 MR2 non-turbo, red, 5spd. Has t-tops. Has around 120k mi, odo says 82k, the speedo cable was broken but has been fixed. It has new: speedo cable, e-brake cable, timing belt, windshield (due to a crack), and fairly new plugs, wires, and brake pads...
this car runs excellently and handles great. it has never been in an accident. it is stock with the exception of tint and cheesy pep boys pedals done by the previous owner.
the only problems with the car are as follows:
1- toyota didn't use a clear coat on the non metallic colors, consequently the paint is faded, however, it looks fine if you put a coat of polish on it every couple of weeks, the pics show that it isn't really a big deal.
2- the t - tops leak, once again, this is common with these cars. they don't leak from the seals, but from where the rod guides go into the holes along the door line. this requires either new rod guides, which is pretty cheap from what i understand or just using silicone sealant around the guides. i dont really drive it in the rain so this has never been a problem for me.
3- no a/c, the compressor was taken out by the previous owner, i have it but i don't think it works, i always rocked the t-tops so i never worried about it
4- the shift boots has tears in it
The MR2 is great, it's just that the main way to get power out of it is to get a 3sgte swap (turbo). I already have a turboed car and would rather have something n/a and high revving. So...
The Trade:
I'm looking for a eg hatch with either a GSR or a B16 swap. I'd prefer a cx or a vx and i'd prefer a GSR swap.
Show me what you've got...
The Pics:

those fogs came with the car, but didn't work, took them off

i have a rear spoiler from a red 91 turbo that i can work into the trade

Just my opinion, but you might consider yourself lucky to have someone trade a stock EG for your car considering it's not even the Turbo model.

Agreed.
Bump anyway for another person in west chester.

I don't see why it is such a problem to ask for what I see other MR2 non-turbos with similar miles going for on xcars and autotrader... That's how i came up with the price. You can get a stock eg hatch for 2 grand, the only way you'll get a non turbo for that much is if it doesn't run. I regularly see gsr hatches and b16 hatches go for 4500 - 5000, which is what I see non turbos sell for, so I don't think it's that outlandish.
Here is a link to an autotrader search for 91-93 Mr2's within 300 mi of my zip code

There are some non-turbos(you can tell by the black body molding on some of the ones that don't specify) that are more and some that are less. It's a pretty average price.
I think this is good justification for my price. Make me an offer if you want it.

Its not a problem, you just gotta remember this car is almost 14 years old. I love mr2's but they gotta be turbo. Price seems a little high with the mileage and the paint condition. KBB private party is $2,425 in "good" condition.
Good luck though...bump for another head in wc

I know and I also think it's silly how certain cars tend to go for a little more than kbb or edmunds says, but they do and this seems to be one of them. I'm willing to listen to offers...
Also, you can swap the turbo drivetrain. A lot of places have the 91-93 jdm rear clip with 225hp for 1600 and i hear you can get it put it for about 700... The clips usually have under 40k miles so it can be more economical than just buying a turbo...
Thanks for the bump...
