Default My Official JDM ITR headlight conversion thread.

Ok so this will be my thread where I will post any new developments as far as the conversion. I have a few pictures to start the thread off with. This is only having done minor athstetic changes to the fender, nothing to the hood or bumper yet.

As of now I have been mainly working on mounting the lights to the car and building the custom support brackets. in some of these pics you can see just how different the ITR headlights are from the G2 headlights in shape and dimension. I have to do some slight adjusting to the light tilting the fog area out just a bit and the corner lamp in a bit and they will be mounted perfect.

At that point I can start working on the hood and fender, I have to cut the hood cause it overlaps the light a bit, and the fender as well, then reshape the edges and such. I have a brand new OEM bumper sitting at home so that will be the last thing I do cause I want to get the other light in first.

Time for pictures.

Wow, I can imagine that if perfected well enough for the bumper and support brackets for the headlights, I think this may become a popular change for gen2 tegs. I think it's gonna look hot.

hehe... yeah, or you can just buy a 3rd gen and do the conversion, Just gotta get the radiator support right and then fitment will be no prob....

Cool to see them on a 2nd gen, but I'd rather keep it on the 3rd gen personally.

Hope yours comes out flawless. The other Headlight/Tailight conversions I've seen looked..... ahh.. well, more to be desired...

Anyway, Good Luck with the conversion!

I looks like it'll be a nice thing. But, IMHO, it may end up looking like the Ebay angel eye projectors for g2

haha yeah that would only cost, me, hmm a new car and then another $1400 + for the fenders, rad support, hood bumper, and headlights then need to bolt them all up and weld up the rad support

thanks guys it is going to be alot of work but well worth it in the end.

Here is what is being done to the car over the next few months, I have all the parts, just need to do the front and then will worry about the rest.

JDM thin moldings,
VIS Techno R side skirts,
VIS Carbon Fiber Techno R wing,
New OEM Acura 92/93 front bumper,
JDM ITR HID headlight conversion,
JDM DA side markers,
and re-painting the car BMW Steel Grey Metalic,

Also once the car is painted, to the wheels I will be polishing that small red lip on it that I did when I painted them to match the rest of the car better.

yeah, didn't notice how long those JDM DA6 Fckers were until now, when you compared them to the stock DC2 headlights.

All I know was that those JDM DA6 1 piecers were a PITA to lug back from Hong Kong the last time I was there. hehe... the guy I sold them to is one lucky SOB, considering the **** I went thru to find a nice clean set and bring them back.

Hopefully when I go up again this December, I'm gonna get me some more nice JDM stuff for me 'ol DC2

Cool work....

I think the stock 2nd gen one piecers look much cleaner and follows the 2nd gen lines much better.

we tried this already. the work needed wasnt worth it. its much easier to graft the jdm type-r front end onto our cars. good luck though.

i own a 91 GS i personaly think our cars are to square for these lights. Nice clean set of one piece headlights are good enough for me. Hey but all means do the light conversion only if your going to finish it 100% and not leave it like the ricers on the streets that pu ton ther eunpainted body kits for months and in some cases here in miami years.

It will be done, this is what I am doing for a living, custom work and painting cars. So yes it will be finished. Again I must say to some of the other people that have postedREAD BEFORE YOUR POST. There is nothing more annoying then those dumbshits that read the thread title and see it has pics and then dont read anything that goes along with the pics, like
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by m R g S r &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Yea, sorry but I think that looks gay, it dosen't even come close to fitting. </TD></TR></TABLE>

If this guy had read the post along with the pics he would have known this is a conversion in the process. The purpose of this thread is to show pictures and comments as I go along with it cause I know for fact there are alot of G2 guys out there that are interested in the conversion but dont want to drop the $2500 for a shop to do it. And the JDM DC2 R panels and such honestly dont look that great on the car they are to rounded and the rest of the car is to squared-off. That is why I am doing and actual fullout headlight only conversion. And the lights do fit the personality of the car very well. Im not to sure how many of you have seen this picture before of a guy in Cali that did it to his Captiva Blue DA

So Im not worried about them not looking good with the car. Believe me when I say I know what I am getting myself into. I have been planning this conversion out for the past year or so, and now have the ability to do it. This car when done will be entered into car shows, and hopefully featured in a couple magizines also another thing to add to my portfolio and resume.

Thanks again to those of you that read what was posted and not just talked out of your ***, and to those of you that dont know how to read....well **** Im thinking you probably didnt even read this either so go on with your illiterate way of life and look in magazines only to see the pictures and never understand what it took to get it to that point.

Jon
