CRX Lee and Koni r0x0r!
Just sharing my experience in dealing with Lee Grimes (CRX Lee) and Koni so far this year.
I picked up a set of pretty cheap used shocks at the beginning of the year and sent them back to koni for a rebuild and to valve them a bit stiffer than the OTS valving for track use - just in case I want to go with some real springs later on. I also had the rears converted to external adjustment. The total cost (including the used shocks) was not much more than buying a new set.
Lee was very helpful in getting everything done, gave me a heads up on when they would be finished and they were delivered on time. After a few weekends on track these things feel awesome - the car takes a better 'set' in the corners, the transitions are alot better, and you can dial the handling in a bit by adjusting the rebound.
*** Now, this part really kicks *** *** One of my adjusters stuck on full soft and then broke off. Lee had me send them in to his desk so he could take care of it. I sent them off on thursday of last week, and I think he was only in on one day this week between travel. He had them fixed (new adjuster rod) and back at my doorstep wednesday on the side - the backlog in the shop is still probably at 2+ months. The only expense it cost me was the shipping to Koni.
Lee and Koni kick alot of *** I dont have enough
for these guys.
RJ - Very satisfied Koni customer, maybe I need some 3011's

I'll vouch for Lee, too. We deal with a ton of people in this industry, and Lee really is one of the best. It's nice to work with a real car enthusiast.

lee is the man. he gave me some truly excellent advice on spring rate choice for my yellows. i was surprised he took so much time to type such a great well thought out response. now i can't wait until i have the money to have the yellows revalved for some stiffer springs.
i certainly did not get nearly as good of responses from tein regarding overhauling some of their lousy shocks.

I will jump in with a few

lee advised me on my first set of Koni in 1997, has advised me on valving, saved my *** at Nationals a couple of years ago with a rush fix on a blown shock between run days.
When I tell people why I only consider Koni its because of product AND support.
Lee.

huh, yeah, Lee kicks mega-booty. I talked to a lot of suppliers and shops when purchasing all the pieces of my race-kaar-puzzle. Lee was the most helpful of them all (and I worked with some very nice and helpful people)
Any club racer would be well advised to talk to Lee for all their shock absorber needs. I don't think you can get better support anywhere.

While we're all heaping praise on our good friend Lee, I may as well relate my positive experience.
First off, as I am sure Lee will be the first to acknowledge, there are some other awesome people there at Koni NA
Awhile back he posted here about the opportunity to "donate" your car to Koni for the test fitting of a Sport spring/damper kit. Basically, all you had to do was get your car to him for a day, and for the effort you get a free professional installation of a suspension. Not too shabby.
Being within an easy drive of Cincinnati, I immediately contacted Lee and set up a time. Not only did I get the opportunity to do this, but they were very accomodating as far as timing - I brought the car in on a Thursday night and dropped it off, and by Friday afternoon it was done!
Additionally, I rudely stopped in on Friday, unannouced, and despite interruping Lee's busy workday, he still took the time to introduce me to some of his colleagues and give me a tour of their facility. Very professional guy, very professional operation.
ALL OF THIS despite having many offers for vehicles right in his backyard, which timing and convenience wise would have been much easier for Koni.
So now I have a great sporting suspension kit, with the Yellow dampers, for nothing but a 2-day trip to Cinci. Not too shabby.
Thanks Lee (and Jay!) - you guys have definitely won a life-customer here

Lee is a great guy and a good driver.
I went to Mid-Ohio once and drove on Saturday and he used my car ('85 ITA) on Sunday. It was sort of a test/tune weekend since i had a new rear bar. I wasn't even there on Sunday but came back that night to find out he had further adjusted the rear sway bar and his best time was 0.1 sec better than mine.
he beat me in my car, that stinks! never mind that part of him being a good guy, lol.
Seriously, he is one of the few that i would throw the keys to my car for a race weekend and say have fun! no charge, no contracts, no nothing. if he would have broke it, i know he would help fix it!
This Bud's for you Lee!

I have nothing to add...
Nothing that hasn't already been said, that is. Great tech support, service, and product quality.
Come see us at the VIR 13 hour enduro in October!

While I've not had the pleasure of dealing with Lee, I will say that I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Koni SP3 dampers for my weekend warrior. I've made believers out of people who usually spout off about JDM this or JDM that. As soon as I pick up a worthy daily driver (hopefully a WRX wagon) I'll be calling on Lee for a sensible damper/spring combination.
