Default Headers and firing order

After speaking with a NHRA record holding v8 builder (gotta give him credit) he was shocked to find that all the headers for integras don't follow the firing order the same way he's seen. 1-3-4-2, yet 1-4 are together and 2-3 are together on ALL headers for integras. Traditionally, each side of a v8 header is grouped by firing order, and any other way doesn't work! Can anyone elaborate on this?

the order is 4-2-3-1 and 4 is on the distributor side, most of the headers i see have 4/2 and 3,1 grouped together for cancellation and pulse pull.
So they are like NHRA top cars???

Sorry..
What's better?

I find all the HEADER for INTEGRA are not collected in the firing order

OR

I find all the headers made for integras are not collected in the firing order?

I think he meant all the headers made for Integras, as in all the ones that are available.

Post-****** suck.. If u would've read it properly, u would have noticed that he was right in his use of plural tense of 'header'.. I wonder if this guy posts in every forum when someone says "headers".. Oh wait, is that u chowmein?

Anyway, i dunno where u pulled that firing order out of, but typically firing orders START WITH 1.. Dunno how u canucks do it tho..

Anyway, the firing order is 1-3-4-2, and my DC 4-1 didn't group anything together.. No, seriously the 4-2-1s group together the #1 and #4 cylinder, AND the #2 and #3 cylinder..

But does it matter which go where? I see that it uses alternate cylinders so each fire has its own area to push out, rather than cylinders firing right after each other then waiting for another 2 cylinders before the primary is used again.. dunno if it matters tho, in terms of optimal exhaust velocity.. Exhaust velocity and optimal torque output, i have no experience with..

Also, i don't know how the engine builder can say that it wouldn't work, and I think u misinterpreted what he said.. Getting the exhaust out of the motor is all that matters.. If u took the exhaust manifold/s off, it would work, until a pocket of colder, dense air gets sucked into the combustion chamber and bent a couple valves.. Ever see fenderwell shorty headers? Just tubes from each exhaust port that curl up, out of the car's body area.. that's all that matters.. streetability? that's another issue, I'll leave that to my grandma to post about..

Wow your right!! (no sarcasm)..

Hi-tech headers are exactly what he's been talking about. Now I know these headers are pretty much creme of the crop, so why don't other manufacturers follow this pattern? 1&3 4&2 & stepped - exactly what he told me if I can't find I should build to make optimum power. Now if hi-tech has it right, why aren't JUN / Mugen headers like this?
