ok, i am gonna do this this weekend so i need to know before i do it. i have seen many people in this site put the exhaust piping under the tank. i like how the muffler come out at an angle you cant get if you follow the stock path. so what i wanted to know is if this was safe. i am taking votes to see if i should do it or not,i dont want to blow if when i hit a bump and it causes a spark on the gas tank.

 

mine is ran that way safe yes ground clearance not much. ill try to take pics and post them up for you .

 

Yeah, its safe.. Pipe doesn't get that hot.

 

post me some pics so i can more or less have an idea how ro have it done. whatr i was thinking is right before it gets to the gass tanks put a flange for removal when my fuel pump messes up or need to remove gas tank what do you all think?

 

be careful cause the clearance is really gonna suck and your tank itself will get banged up by the piping.

cars that have this style exhaust look totally different underneath than our EF's .

 

why not come out the back crooked to the left? plenty of room to do that

well my car is lowered 2 inches, i can fit a finger in every wheel well.

i wouldnt. you would smash that thing so fast. just run it along the stock path and then left and then crooked. thats how i have it. works fine. no clearence problems.

I have a custom 2.25" exhaust that runs straight under the gas tank. I have a 2" drop F&R ( Progress Group springs). My ehaust has 3 inches(at lowest point right at the gas tank) of clearance for now. Yea it scrapes, due to the fact that the stock shocks are blown. Mostly scrapes when I hit bad bumps(no dampening) and high speed bumps or grades in the road. But i still love my exhaust, only has 1 mandrel bend at 45 degrees from the header, angling it to the drivers side in the original exhaust hole in the bumper.I'm getting Neuspeed Koni's because they have adjustable perches allowing me to raise the car front and or rear either 1/3 inch or little over 1/2 inch (.60 inch). Fronts fine ,just want to raise the rear up for clearance issues. Hope that helps. Here are pics-

If it matters i've had mine for 7 monthes and still thereare no major problems (just what was mentioned above). But i had and have no problem w/ taking the chance. I wanted the best over all function, and i got it while I had the DPFI set up in my 1.5L set up w/ the 4spd. i gained power in all my gears. It was weird and refreshing, i wasn't a speed demon, but still excelerated through all the gears even 4th , including up hills. The ability to have power in any gear , including up hill was and is awesome and is still there. So it is and was, one of the greatest investments i've made. I can't account for durability, but I can speak on the behalf of function.

IU don't like the piping from hondacivic4g, if you place the piping in the middle it will hit the ground more often.

why not put it on right and then have then make and extra bend so you can have a crooked exhaust.

BTW...i don't like crooked exhausts....to each their own

i didnt plan on mine going under the tank we just ran out of pipe. just route it regular cut your bumper out and have it come out the right side. thats how mine is im still workinon those pics.

make it 8 for no. if you dont like the way it is done stock. just have them run it out the passenger side and cut a moon shape out of the bottome of the bumper. i dotn see any advantage to running it under the tank. just more **** to bottom out on i guess.

Mine is ran like that on my crx and it works great.. The shop I got it done at has done lots of them like that with no problem at all..
