Default Engine swap questions.

These questions have probably been asked, but I want to know exactly what I need to do to get a B18C1 swap to a 90 CRX Si? What engine mounts to get and what ecu would fit and work in the CRX using this engine? Also will the axles on the B18C1 fit the CRX? If not which ones can I use.

THX for the help.

HASport seems to be the most popular engine mounts for the EF's. If you have the dough, go for the HASports. The only prob is that they are the most expensive. Mounts are mounts, they hold the engine in place. Best axles to use are the 90-93 'teg axles.

You can either keep it non-OBD, or convert it to OBD-1. Either way, your gonna need to run a few extra wires from the ecu for the knock sensor, vtec, VTM, etc.

For a non-obd setup you can use either a PW0 or PR3 (modified preferably) which are first gen B16a ecus, and will plug right into your stock harness. However you will still need an external RPM activated switch to activate the secondary butterflys on the GSR mani (such as one from summit). With this setup you can use injectors from a JDM first gen B16a or 90-91 LS, and a distrib from a first gen B16a or modified LS one.

Another option is to convert the car to OBD-1, which means your gonna have to get an OBD-1 GSR ECU, injectors, distributor, and 4-wire O2 sensor. Your also gonna need a conversion harness to plug up the ecu (blown90hatch makes them), and some minor rewiring will need to be done to eliminate the injector resister box.

The third, and absolutely easiest way to do it is to get the Zdyne "one wire" conversion. check out: http://www.zdyne.com/convhome.html.
It costs a little over $300, but that is still way less than all the stuff you would need to convert to OBD-1. Its for B16a conversions mainly, but they should be able to program it to be better suited for the bigger motor. Also, there are extra features they can as well, such as ecu controlled nitrous signal at any RPM. That feature would be perfect to use for the secondary butterflys. I am not affiliated with Zdyne in any way, but not too many people seem to know about this and it really is a great way to go.
