Here's the deal. A couple months ago a HT member and myself agreed upon a trade. The deal was I sent him my brand spanking new AEM Fuel Rail that had never been used and in return he was to send me his Autometer EGT Gauge. He told me that he had all the parts that went with it so I said sounds good as I really needed the gauge. I got the gauge and opened it real quick checked it out, then sealed the box back up and put it away until I had the $$ to get it put in. Well I went down to the shop the other day to have the oil pressure gauge and egt installed to get a call saying i'm missing parts for the gauge. I'm missing a couple fittings and the "black box" aka brain for the EGT gauge. I called up Autometer and spoke with a tech there who told me yes my gauge needs the black box and without it the gauge I have is useless, ontop of that Autometer does not make the box's anymore they have been discontinued, so what do you guys think is fair?

The HT Member Moosknuckle said he sold my AEM Fuel Rail and he's only willing to give me $50 tops? Don't you guys feel that's bullshit when I can't even sue the gauge or I can't even get a new gauge for $50? Someone tell me what would be the right thing to do in this situation to get is resolved in a clean manner. I got dyno time tomorrow and I needed that gauge and now i'm out of the gauge, so what to do witha broken gauge? Is earched high and low for that black box, and I got all my friends on the mainland looking for it, but no luck as of yet.

Post any conversations you had with the guy...misleading information used in such cases is still theft, prove what happened actually did happen and then after that, post his info...Honda-Tech does not need sellers like that.

 

get him to pay for your fuel rail since you got nothing in return or pay for a new gauge. you can send the pos gauge back to him.

see that sounds fair but he says well I got a good working gauge, and that just because it is missing one part doesn't mean he has to replace the gauge, but what he doesn't seem to understand is he told me the gauge had everything and was 100% complete. He mentioned that they had hooked up the gauge like that but the guy from Autometer said bullshit because that gauge will not work without the box, and without the box its a useless gauge. he told me he sold my fuel rail with the motor, and that he will only give me $50 tops which is fully bullshit! I'm not trying to be an *******, and I told him if we could settle this stuff like to grown adults I wouldn't post this up, but he's giving me a ahrd time, so looks like I need to post this all up, and might even have to contact the authorities because what he did was bullshit. If I just let him go I lose out a fuel rail + I gota go out of pocket for a new gauge so that puts me at over $200 out of pocket, and he might do this to someone else as well.

i'll post up the conversation we had the other day trying to resolve this. Am I wrong for asking him to replace the gauge or pay me for the fuel rail? Especially when autometer no longer makes that part that I need to make the gauge a proper functioning piece. Mods need to step in and talk to this guy so he doesn't screw anyone else over.

 

Well lets get this straight it wasnt a couple months ago. It was about 4-5 months ago. I figured everything was straight. Consider i havent hear from since the winter, until 3 days ago. The gauge we had the car in worked 100% before taking it out. Prior to my friend taking the gauge out, he assured me the gauge was 100% working order.

I've been very nice to you during our conversations.
But, i dont think its fair after 5 months to complain about your gauge.
If you told me within that month or two. I would of been able to get the missing part outta the car and sent it to you. Because he just junked the car about 2 months ago.

I understand where your coming from but also, all you need is that black box once you find one the gauge will be fine. . . Thats why I told you i'd throw you 50 bucks.

I dont know exactly how were going to handle this but whatever the case might be im not sending you $$ for the rail. I'd buy the same silver aem d-series fuel rail and send it back to you.

Be it 1 month or 3 months that **** doesn't matter period. The bottom line is Drew thinks he can run all over people and un-like all the other little kids on this forum i'm more then happy to grab a lawyer and settle this the hard way.

If it requires mr. drew to miss work and spend money on a lawyer so be it that's not my problem. He already agreed if you can't simply read above that he was ordering the fuel rail and it would be arriving monday, and now all of a sudden he changes his mind . . . that's really tough **** and not on my part on his part. actually I don't . . . I got nothing to worry about buddy. I got nothing to lsoe because like I said you already agreed to send the **** back, so I already got the proof to win if you want to go to court. See what you don't seem to understand here is:

getting a lawyer to represent you and court fee's and all that is going to be well over what the fuel rail would cost, so why would you even consider spending way more then you have to when there is a simple soulution to to your problem which is sending me the **** back just like you requestred.

Like I already said give me your address because you got a piece of "my property" and I have a piece of "your" property. I am not keeping this gauge because we already agreed to me sending your gauge back yand you sending the rail, so if you decide to keep the rail and the gauge more power to you, you'll just go down harder for theft, and internet fraud which is a federal crime. How I know is my cousin is in law emforcment.

So do the math Drew . . . would you rather spend $400 as an example to go to court, or would you rather spend $120 or whatever the # is to send me that fuel rail back? Is the smart choice that hard to see?
