Default Forum thoughts on a Suspension FAQ (stickied)?

I'm thinking about putting together a suspension FAQ for the EP3/RSX since I see so many topics on it. I'd break it down by springs, shocks and full coilovers and try to post springrates where I can. I have a decent database, but I don't know everything on all of the setups out there.

So, I'll make a poll to see what you guys think and perhaps later start having some user input if you are confident in a particular setup.

Vote and/or post your ideas. Thanks.

What do you think of Skunk2 coilovers on a 2004 RSX type-S?? What would be a sick kit for race and street applications?(coilovers, dampeners, etc.) But at reasonable prices like under $3000 for everything

What about tires? What have you found to be the best for your money?

What I'd lovee to see is toe and camber curves for the front and rear suspension as well as wheel rates for the front and rear suspension with the different aftermarket setups.

As for the street best tires: Falken Azenis hands down. Cheap, sticky, stiff. See also Kumho MX.

Best R-tires: Probably the Hoosier RS04 but I've never seen what the Goodyear race tires can do (since they're about $200 per corner).

Im guessing it could be two threads, one for DC5 one for EP3, and in each thread is a post with specs for each of the available products... of course it would have to stay locked when not being maintained.

yok es 100 is the best all around tire. people always say that azenis are good but some people like myself want wet and dry traction.

I think it's a fantastic idea. Also, there are so many "will I need a camber kit?" questions, maybe that should be addressed as well. I agree with hatch2k, different threads for the EP3 and DC5.

If you just post the motion ratios F/R, people can just figure out the wheel rates for themselves based on the setup.

I was going to concentrate on suspension choices, springrates, camber kits, etc. As for the theories on setup maybe later on, but for now just the basics.

Do the suspension information bro. Such as spring rate, etc. I can give you all the information you will need on all tein products such as spring rate, ride height and other little bits of information. If you want it just let me know. Everything from springs to coilover systems.

Start posting what you know and I'll compile it all together.

First I'd like to start with springrates and different manufactures--maybe categorize them into style, street/track and pure track...such things as that.

Coilovers:

Tein Flex - 9K/10K
JIC FLTA2 - 9K/10K (used to be 8K/9K)
Buddy Club Racing Spec - 10K/16K

These are the only ones I know off the top of my head right now.

The Goodyears are suprisingly...Good. My buddy shaves off about 1.2 seconds when he pulls out the street tires and slaps those puppies on (on the 1/4 mile that is.)
