Default leaking tranny oil!!

my friend has a b16 in his crx (lopezboard)... there is a steady stream of gear oil coming out of the half circle flywheel cover on the bottom of the tranny. he didn't bottom out to break anything, and he wasn't driving hard. it just started leaking. has anyone had this problem before? does anyone know what it is or how to fix it? thanks

Yea its me, my tranny is gushin out gear oil, and the steady stream was not coming from my intermidiate shaft. Its such an odd place for the oil to be coming out of, its basically on the very bottom of the tranny closets to the block where the flywheel cover plate thing is. Anyone wiht any ideas?? should i jsut get a new tranny?

i've had this happen to a customer/friend

throw out bearing blew up at the track, a piece of it became a projectile, and pierced a hole in the transmission casing right behind the flywheel

lets hope you don't have the same problem

luckily i was able to save the transmission, just welded the hole

do you know if it is trannt oil or engine oil. you might have a blown rear mail seal also. since you did say it is coming from the inspection plate on the bottom of the tranny.

problem found..... I took my tranny off, and inside the bell housing was pretty well covered in oil thick oil. And i found an inch crack in it, right above the shift linkage. I guess my differential got messed up.
