Default ???ssautochrome 38mm wastegate???

I bought this ssautochrome wastegate off of ebay for $175 shipped. It looks JUST like a TiAL but just no brand carved in it. (Kinda like a gucci bag with no gucci logos). I still haven't used to and here's a pic of it.

Well, I wanted to find out what PSI the spring was and so I was gonna stick it on my friends car and FLOOR IT! haha... well... he decided to just pull it apart and see what color the spring was...

well, it's a big blue one which, I read, is a 1.0 bar spring! LOL... i would've exploded his motor. Well... I did my search on here and found nothing so my question is has anyone had any experience with this wastegate? what makes it not as great as a tial? Also... I've ordered a yellow 3.63lbs spring off of ebay to address my blue 14.7lbs spring

thanks for the help ahead of time, H-T.

_looks nice_ but for $25 more you can have the real deal. Don't get me wrong, I'm no label ***** by any means, but we really have no clue of the quality and origin, do we?

Thumbs up to trying it out though.

I personally don't have any experience with the ssautochrome wastegate...but I know a few people who are running it with no problems what so ever!..

I've actually heard that they are good wastegates and perform the same as Tial...

I wouldn't worry about using that wastegate at all...I've never heard of any problems with it!

I am using the 35mm ssautochrome wastegate and it performs flawlessly for me. Holds 15psi rock solid, never once has spiked or creeped or anything like that. Exactly part for part identical to Tial.

its funny. when people with personal experience use the ****, its fine. everybody else that has never used it say that its ****. hmmmmm. i don't know if its worth saving $10 over a Tial, but, if it was $40 or so, i'd buy one.

Yeah, I saw that CRAP too when I was looking for a wastegate to buy. Thankfully, I learned my lesson a while back on "cheap copy-cat" products. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Honestly, I would rather use a turbocharger w/ internal wastegate before I would even considering touching that JUNK!!! Doesn't it say (in black lettering) 38mm wastegate on a plain white box?....Thought so!!! SSAutochrome Sucks!!!

Okay, so once again we have someone who isn't using it who says it is crap and fails to give a good reason why.

Generic is great if it works. SSAutoChrome is not known for the highest-quality goods, but I still think that most of the "bad experiences" with their stuff is from expecting too much of it. I mean, take their manifolds for example. A lot of people say that they crack. But has anybody had one crack who properly supported the turbo? A tubular header is not designed to carry the load of a 30 pound turbocharger, it is designed to flow exhaust gasses. Hell, even my stock cast iron exhaust manifold did not support the exhaust. The exhaust was supported by the engine, so that I could remove the manifold entirely without the exhaust moving a millimeter.

On top of that, I have read many posts on H-T where even the expensive manifolds like Rev Hard have cracked on occasion.

i used the generic spark racing 35mm gate for the longest time and never had an issue with it until I started revving the engine higher in 4th gear, and even a 38mm tial wouldn't hold it then, just too much exaust flow to keep it at 14psi, so it worked just as well as a 35mm tial for me.

once again. another user who is satisfied. i guess you are a liar, Jared? LOL! anyway, it seems like the people that have used it are happy with it, even Jared, with his 10 & 11 second cars.

what's the box supposed to say "You've won publishers clearinghouse sweepstakes"? i know what you are trying to say, but, it's very stupid to say the least. i bet that you've never used one? the author of this post wanted to hear from people with personal experience, not shittalkers.

I just got an SS autochrome WG spring off ebay for my tial 35mm and it works perfect...

So I can attest to the fact the spring is good...

Personally I found no differences in my ssautochrome wastegate and another tial wastegate i had right next to it. I think they are the same casing.. So if you worried just get a Tial spring and you have a ghetto tial wastegate

I was a dumbass and bought the whole kit and the turbo lasted three weeks and the welds on their "unbreakable" manifold snapped and dropped the turbo, but so far the wastegate has done just fine!

Okay, but would you like to elaborate? How did the turbo fail? Had you properly oiled it? DId you support the turbo and exhaust or was the manifold holding it all up?

Yeah, i've heard some pretty bad stuff about their manifolds without the proper bracing. However, after braces, I heard no complaints. . Thanks for all the input with the wastegate. This helped a lot. YOU GUYS ARE THE ****.

I don't need to used that CRAP. Why should I when I already have the real thing? Again, SS Autochrome still sucks!!! I guess since you are so defensive about that brand...you must work for them or something?...SS Autochrome
