Inverted Koni 3011 racing shocks, double adjustables w/ eibach ERS springs (custom valved and sized, cost $2600 alone)

They were the first set of double adjustable 3011s built for a CRX (actually another car then moved to this one). Inverted on these cars means nothing and can in some ways cause problems, actual damping function is what is important. 3011s are very good shocks (huge adjustment range, serious repeatability, damned near bullet-proof) but this is not to say that the otehr 8041 Konis don't have strong merit as well.

inverted shocks = less unsprung weight and tend to remain cooler. They also assist in oil dislpacment upon compression and lead to more consistent compressions. They do require a bit more maintenance though and should be serviced regularly. The WRX-STi comes with inverted struts from the factory....and most pro race cars invert their struts.... but perhaps you should start a thread ib the tech forum to discuss this more, as the classified forum isn't really the place for it. email me if you have more questions on the car.
